Ohh haha I see what you mean. Well most portable AC's seem pretty simple. Just put water in them and good to go right? I do know the better ones come with an exhaust hose on the back for the hot air, so i'd probably point the AC directly to an intake hole in the tent, and have the exhaust hose reach towards the door to blow the heat underneath the closed door (though obviously all heat won't go out that way but need to keep door closed to bedroom so light doesn't come in.

I'm sure i can handle the dimming if its just a screw driver and turning lol, i was more concerned about the voltage vs current adjusting and if only changing current could disrupt something. I'm a lamen with most electrical work haha and most handy things.

Looking at pics in post 11667 up page of your custom built not actually quantum boards, the dimmer is built in to the driver, under black plug "Io ADJ" small phillips screwdriver & watt meter would be handy.

(bit of a womans thing the way it is wired up to get them balanced)

Something trivial like keeping the door of your grow room open, or opening the tents while lights are on, can go a long way. I definitely agree with you there and for the most part i've been keeping my tent door open as that is helping cool it down a bit. I could maybe try keeping my spare bedroom door open a foot or two, have both intake and outake ducting go out the door (maybe have hot air up top of door and cool air at bottom) and find a way to drape something dark over the open section like a garbage bag. It would look ugly to whoever saw it haha but I only have friends and family come to my upstairs.

added a very simple pic (not my door just one i took from google images) to show an example of what I could do with the door to my room. As noted vent on top and bottom of door, garbage bag hanging down to block rest of light.

Forgive me for I had visions of a window ac unit falling out of the window onto the UPS guy's head. LOL

You'll need to exhaust the ac out of the room for it to be most effective. Work with the seasons when you can, cool the room by opening window at night or in am. Work with what ya got, but nothing can replace effort and that's free.

There are a.c. window vent kits that would probably make it a bit less noticeable.

But what temps does your upstairs usually range from, and does it get cold where you live?

Thats a good idea as well. I was thinking of venting both as per my above door pic, but realized I haven't set up my carbon filter yet and would prefer putting it at the end of my intake vs putting in in the tent and pulling the air through it. I can probably place the filter close to the door so its still letting some heat out.

I suppose if I check on them daily, I could open the window and let winter air in from 5pm to 7am, then when i'm at work close the window and use the AC since dark periods are through the day and window open + dark period might make things too cool and the AC unit I can always plug into my timer so its off during the dark period.

Think i'm leaning towards that method. AC will help with humidity as well since winters are very dry and my humidity typically ranges from 30-40rh

Well I have one of those smaller sliding windows in my spare bedroom, so not sure if many of those AC window units fit. and wanted to avoid doing much to the window cause all houses in my area have AC and Heat so feel like people would wonder why I needed a window vent kit (other than the obvious reasons growers know lol)

It will start to get cooler since winter is coming around, I'm in Ontario Canada, so its only been the past few days that i've been hurting since temps have gone up, but I think forecast is calling for it to start cooling again soon. I've never grown in the summer so hadn't had to deal with extreme heat as my upstairs does get the most heat compared to my middle floor or basement. I'm running the AC right now at 21 (normally I prefer 23) but to try to keep the upstairs cool it needs to be that low. The grow tent is heating almost my entire upstairs when I leave the door open so its like perfect temp upstairs (cept my actual spare bedroom/grow room is warmer) but middle floor and basement are freeeeezing just to maintain ok temps upstairs lol.

Problem with just leaving the window open during the winter is when lights go off the temps will drop dramatically. So i'd almost have to go in the room every day and close the window and reopen during dark periods. Not ideal :\

Dimming has seemed to work so far! Temps have stayed around 81F but with tent door open. Temporary fix for now as ultimately would prefer to run the lights at 100% when in flower vs around 80% or so now. But low temps are a plus!

i use a portable airconditioner and it works very well. The single hose models all suck as they draw in cold air and expell hot air though the same hose. I had an LG and though it cooled well it suck electricity like an alcoholic on free beer night......... AND it was louder than a 747 on take off, and thats not a joke! However, my current one, a Whynter 10,000 btu is quieter than my window airconditioners and uses 1/2 the power the LG did. And it has built in dehumidifier. I never needed it. The unit kept the room at RH low enough that even on days with 90% RH outdoors, it never got higher than 57% inside my tents, averaged around 42%. I'm pleased with this one. I can't use a window model with three tent in a small room. Tried it. The portable worked better.

Hi Guys

I have bought 2 of this QB96 elite v2's

where can i get instructions for assembling this? want to run them 200-250w wich driver do i need to run in paralel with one driver? also will need to make active cooling for this lights, where can i get instructions?
plz help guys
