With the 7 foot tent, are you going to train or doing anything to the girls? Or just let them grow?

I’m planning on topping the Cannalope Hazes, and training with tomato cages. The Kushberry grow fairly bushy, so I’m just going to prune them in the menorah shape (not sure what the technical term for that is). Pruning is the plan for the Sour Koshers too, same as Kushberry, but I’ll keep a close eye on their growth rate. I like the taller tent height as a “just in case”.
I did plant more than I expect to finish with, even with the fem seeds, just to play the odds of things going wrong. If I can go into flower with 3-4 solid female plants, I’ll be on plan.

6 am - still chugging along at a solid growth rate. Checked the roots of CH1 (plant in middle), and am quite pleased by the level of development.

6 am - not much to report other than growth rate seems to be holding steady...
Here is an example of the type of shape I’ll be aiming for with pruning the Kushberry and Sour Kosher. This plant had Kosher Kush in its genes, was in a 3 gal fabric pot grown outside from seed, and took very well to regular pruning to encourage lateral growth and airflow, since it grew densely leafy quickly.

That looks really good, I like it. That should work just fine in a tent too.
I've grown a lot outdoors and some indoors, and I've never done any type of pruning, trimming, lst, scrog, sog, etc etc... I wanted to try LST on my GSC auto, but I chickened out.

I just learned how to prune more effectively this year after an older experienced grower shook his head at my feeble attempts and taught me his style. This will actually be my first attempt at topping & LST’ing though, and I’m sure I’ll make several errors...it’s one of the reasons I germ’d more seeds than necessary. If I can get one good Cannalope Haze properly LST’d, that will make me feel accomplished. But I never get things right the first time I try...or second time either, for that matter...

Unfortunately, they’re a bit challenged. I’m annoyed at myself for causing them problems so early, so I’ve held off on posting updates as I try to get them into more photogenic condition.
But I shouldn’t hold off anymore on posting a journal update. Going to post an update with pics now.

9/12 - Day 18
7am - seedlings are having issues, with all having some droopy leaves to various degrees. Color is good, leaf growth is still chugging along, and stems are straight...but leaves, particularly the older sets, are drooping. Some are even resting on the soil, which is causing me the most concern.
I believe the poroblem is/was a combination of underwatering, not enough humidity in the tent, and the light needing raising. The plants seemed to pick up after yesterday’s watering, though not much. I raised the led about 3 inches, though not sure if that made any difference.
I’m still thinking I’d like to up-pot them this weekend or next week, but I’d like them to be a bit healthier for the switch...

Hi, at the request of TheDifferenceX who I've met and talked with here, he asked me to take a look at your grow and see if i can offer any advise. Off the top of my head you have alot going on. Im not sure what the Roots soil is but FFOF and perlite is a really good way to use soil without making youre own from scratch. FFOF also can go about 4 weeks without needing any added nutes and while I've never looked EXACTLY what a tea is im betting it has something to do with nutes. You should've gotten them oit of solo cups at 10-14 days max. Get them out not to start growing. They do t seem to be bad except needing room. To compaire here are 2 18 day old auto plants in 2 liter bottles of coco. The size difference is huge and beyond that of just soil vs coco. I believe if you transplant and dont go crazy ammending your soil and using tea or nutes before the FFOF needs them you should be fine. If the Roots was a lite mix than by 18 days youll be ok with just a mix of FFOF and 30% perlite. Thats all you really need. Hope you get them back on track.

I sincerely appreciate the guidance, and will follow your plan. I was wondering if I got behind on transplanting, and now I have confirmation that I did. I had been trying to eyeball when the leaves reached the side of the cups as the sign to up-pot, but most of the early leaves are drooping so I can’t tell their true length anyways. After reading your post, I just pulled up a couple cups to check their roots, and some plants’ really look over crowded down towards the bottom.
At the current evaporation pace, I think the soil should be dry enough for transplanting tomorrow afternoon, as I just watered at midday today. As you recommend, I’ll up-pot into the FFOF with 30% perlite, and only other addition will be some Mykos...I won’t start with the tea yet for a few weeks. Hopefully the seedlings will forgive my missteps and get into a faster growth rate without any transplant shock.
I’d definitely be stoked right now if they were the size of the two you posted at 18 days...and not just that size, but that healthy too!

No problem. Aside from needing the bigger pots they don't look bad at all so once you transplant they should be more to youre liking for sure. Soil does grow abit slower than coco, but if they had been in begger pots a week ago im sure they still would've been closer to mine than what they are currently. So yeah, transplant asap and don't overdue the teas knowing the new soil from each transplant can feed around 4 weeks and keep us updated.

I appreciate you getting me the assistance, @TheDifferenceX ! I’ve been bouncing around thinking I’ve underwatered, overewatered, too much light, too much wind, etc. So many different issues seem to look exactly the same to me...perfect example of why I’m on RIU, trying to increase my skills...
