So I'm about to start growing and have read their grow guide. Can't easily get the biotabs stateside so looking for advice on soil mixes and how to go about it. Or liquid nutes. I'm new to growing and trying to keep things as simple as possible.

I'll be growing sodk and fantasmo seeds in a 3*3 in 5 gal and 3 gal respectively under qbs

Check out the "mega crop" thread for nutes. Can't get any easier and it makes plants perform. Then just get yourself some decent soil that you can find locally add some perlite to get get it up to about 40% aeration. Don't get any kind of soil that is designed to hold water or anything with time release nutes in it. Don't feed your soil until the nutrients in it are used up, your plants will tell you when they're hungry. And don't over water, over love your plants. Give them the essentials and they will do the rest. Good luck.

Any soil recommendations. The grow guide says roots organuc with a hotter mixture below I'm assuming like ffof?

I think the guide you read is for a water only soil, that's a great option as well. I've used roots organic, it's good stuff. So is ffof, the ocean forest is a hotter soil where happy frog is better suited for seedlings.

FFOF on its own will do. Theyre mix has a super soil at the bottom half i believe. Get FFOF or a good coco. Don't do too much with autos or you will not have a easy go. They take an extreme amount of finesse.

Then when I see I decline add mega till I'm 2 weeks from harvest, then water only till the end.

That sound good guys? I'll be easy on the nutes as id rather have some than kill it. Really hoping to be successful to make the wifey happy.

I've made it as much auto as I can aside from watering. Got plenty of vent 6" exh and 6" intake that will be dialed down to low, a tem/humid controller to control the fans & dehumidifier, two small clamp on ossacilating fans for circulation, a dehumidifier, smart pots, and 4* QBs on a 480-2100 that will be dialed back to 300ish.

Think I got this but we'll find out shortly

Only thing to note is FFOF will feed around 4 weeks and if you use Happy Frog its way weaker so youll need to feed earlier. Because autos are super finniky, i would get both and do bottom 2/3 with FFOF and Top 1/3 with Happy frog. Than youll have enough nutes to get past veg and higher chance of not stunting them to small plants when you start feeding on youre own.

I blend my own soil 1 part peat 1 part Burpee grow mix 1 part just natural with amendments on bottom half of pot

I don't use soil, i use coco with perlite in it but i believe most would add about 30% perlite to store bought soils.
