Clone mother or original mother

Hey there, I was wondering if I could take some clones when far enough into veg and turn one of them into a mother plant. Or is it way better to make the original plant the mom and fully grow the clones. Thanks in advance

Agreed. In fact I only clone from flowering anymore. Monstercropping. There's tons of cuttings available from one so there's no need to maintain a mother long.
Similar to what I do the day I put them in flower I trim some off the bottom and use those as cuttings.

Also no I had my gg4 for about 4 years without any drop in potency doing what i stated above.

I concur on maintained potency. The question comes up regularly about declining potency and there's no reason for it.

Ive never noticed a drop n potency from clonin over n over off clones...i did once however keep a mom plant for like 2and a half yrs...and i swear i saw a drop n potency b4 the end. And wen i flowered the mom finally...was no where near as strong as n th beginning...idk the science behind it, and there may have been a factor at play that i didnt catch. Just sharin

I'm not an expert yet on this. In 2 seasons I've noticed in MY experience it depends on strain as to rooting. Then as to throwing normal leaves it's strain dependent again on my experience. One high CBD strain just didn't do well while Bowser took a while to reveg. But I crossed Bubble Gum X LA Confidential and those reveg quickly. All that said the yields make it worth working with. Any skill level can do this by the way. Any cloning method.

Average 2 weeks to root really well in aerocloner or dipped in cloning gel and then mycchorizae then placed in a Dixie cup of wet vermiculite.

Do u take lower branches, tops? Does either seem to wrk better
I start with the lowers to shape the plant. Then the shorter interior ones. However the clones of these clones will shoot tons of cutting candidates. One plant this year gave 60 clones before I flowered it. If you have the light you can get a lot of bud. I got over 3 ounces from the one I flowered and only because I flowered it while still not vegged long. They're freaks.

I almost filled a 20 site site aerocloner in one thinning alone. The wispy stems do grow regularly after they're planted.

I'll take pics next time I have some out of the tent. From small to tall. Any revegged plant is a freak but their clones produce from the start.

A neighbor heard what I was doing last year and brought me this book. Yet to read it but claims using his method you harvest every 38 days.
