Looking better dude.
Keep a keen eye on them though.
Don't be surprised at all if you need a little less.
If they don't keep lushing up more. Or tomorrow aren't looking better. You'll know what it is
Always feed according to your waste as well. Never worry about what going in. Always worry about what's coming out in the waste.
Ph and ppm.
Just make sure you ph your feed properly between 5.8 - 6.5.
Realise that every single time you feed, the coir releases cations into your pot.
Study that article I posted. Because you'll notice calmag and potassium is already in coir, in extremely large amounts.
Use the coir to your advantage. Use it as a buffer.
I wouldn't use that calmag more than once or twice.
Potassium levels leaching from coir is extremely high. Potassium locks out calmag, and itself, and makes your waste ph plummet.
Coir is an extremely good drain to waste medium. Because it holds a lot of moisture, has heaps of aeration and drainage, is self buffering, and is inert when saturated enough.
Run it with the same philosophy as any drain to waste garden.
Keep on top of your waste. Because whatever your waste is reading, is what your roots are sitting in. (think about it)
Don't worry about the ppm of your feed dude. Worry about the ppm of your waste.
Imo your plants are looking much, much better. But i have to say what I see, and it still looks salty to me.
They lushed right up, and they will lush up more almost overnight. Cut that ppm back dude. Try 300. (If you fed at 450, your waste should be very close to 450. Not 150. Still not enough runoff.)
Look at the improvement from one flush.
EVERY SINGLE feed or watering, I flush 15 - 30% waste out the pot. Without fail.
Then I read the waste. Period.
Don't be lazy.
Plants are looking much better dude.
But 450ppm still sounds, and looks like a lot to me.
If the plants aren't eating that nutrient then it just sits there, and builds up in your pot. PLUS the natural buffers in the coir.
You have to realize coir is continuously composting and releasing it's own salt content, on top of what you're putting in.
Also if your feed is going in almost clear, and coming out brown, that's a no no. That's buildup.
That brown becomes as clear as your feed.
Keep checking that waste OP.
I'd drop that ppm too.
I'd also leave calmag out for now.
(my tap water is less than 100ppm, and I never, ever, ever use calmag)
It's the truth. Calmag made me chase my tail many, many times. The stuff is a big gimmick.
Check your nutrient bottle. It'll have around 3% calcium and 1% magnesium.
Which is fine. My 2-0-0 calmag bottle contains the same amount.
Realize that unless you are actually deficient in nitrogen, calcium, magnesium and iron. Then calmag is a big gimmick.
Realize that calmag just makes your RO water, hard water.
Good luck OP.
Plants are looking much better.
But still some adjustments needed.
Keep up the good work.
P.S.
Study that Canna article.
