The $6.50 EB strips are not the same. They are only 2000 lumens while the Vesta strips are 3192 lm (2700K) + 3352 lm (5000K) for 6544 total lumens for just $3 more. They are actually a pretty good deal if you don't mind the lower efficiency.
Daaaayyyyyuuuummmm. I didn't see those I guess, Huh? So they alternate between 2700K & 5000K and are still 560mm?

Vesta's need probably something like a heatsink or a fan at max 2amps. That's almost +45w. But a cheap c-channel or alu-sheet should be enough. At 70 or 80°C they are far away from getting damaged, but you could already burn your fingers at 80°C.

You need around 80K lumens for a 4X4 wouldn't Ya say? That's 40 of those fuckin $6 strips.

I know with 8 cxb3590's you're pushing over 80K lumens

Do these need heatsinks @ 1050?

Pretty sure when another reputable brand knocks on Sammy's door and ask for something similar...
It only depends on "if", "how much", " when".
Osram does the same at first only for SanLight, now there is a 2nd brand claim to have the same deal with Osram. But could be a subsidiary company of SanLight because the LED moduls look almost identically. But it is also conceivable that they get the same LED modules directly from Osram.

The market is big and competition is reviving the business. Samsung has nothing of this when they consider HLG's unique selling point(special selection bin) and forego further deals with other companies..
They have the capacity to do the same for more companies and the higher the production, the lower the cost and the higher their margin. In the end it's a manager decision...

I'm assuming you guys have a contract with them. I dont see a multi billion dollar business breaking the contract, but I'm sure worse things have happened.
Yes we do actuality . Samsung is launching a 660nm red which we have the first 100 pcs to ship out and we will debut them. Last year they asked us what led we would like to see next and we told them 660nm. They developed it No we don't have exclusive on it nor would we want that We are just helping each other. Samsung has been awesome to work with.
