Starbucks and Amazon will not help homeless

Not if they have housing.
In theory, yes, but that ignores those who do not wish to be housed for reasons only they know. If they are not diagnosed with a mental illness which could lead them to be a threat to themselves and/or others, then how do you force someone who does not wish to be housed into housing?

Let's face it, you could provide more than double the necessary beds in shelters to take in all homeless, and you still wouldn't get them all in every night short of rounding them up and carting them away. It's a problem which will never be eliminated.

There was an anecdotal story about a guy in Ireland who was thinking about selling his house, and decided that a garage on the side would raise the value. So he builds a nice, big, garage, plenty of room for a car, bikes, tools, gardening stuff, and so on, then calls in the real estate people.

To his shock, they say the price is the same. He asks "Why is this, doesn't the garage add value?", and that's when they point out the three steps leading up to the garage door...

Exactly.

I knew a kid who dropped out of school and ran away from home when he was ~17.
His parents were not abusive or oppressive. In fact, the only hard rule in the house was no theft. (You know... basic shit like money and vehicles.)

He was a smart kid with tons of potential and now his life is a complete mess.

I have zero sympathy and will *not* support his lifestyle choice.

i know a kid that did something very very similar. home life was kind of crappy, but he wasn't abused or beat or treated badly.
his name has been "trashcan" for 10 years or more now, and has reaaaaalllly shitty tattoos all over including his face
and NOOOOO hes not a gangster or anything... I'm not sure if he is still homeless... last i saw he was wandering around playing the banjo and doing yard work/construction here and there..

I also had a family member who decided to be homeless from 18 to 24.... she took advantage of SO MANY PEOPLE, its not even funny... she was bumming enough money to go to concerts buy all the drugs and alcohol, stay in hotels and have a god damn smart phone with service, constantly. she has warrants in like... 5 different states for shit like... peeing on a public side walk...

She almost got stuck in that lifestyle until she almost died having a miscarriage in a store bathroom!

Ive seen to many people do it by choice... i know that money is one of the MOST abundant things in america, people already just give that shit away for trash...

I VOTE.... IF THEY WANT HELP. THEY MUST FIRST PROVE THEY ARE TRYING TO HELP THEMSELVES. NOT JUST SITTING ON THE SIDEWALK WITH A SIGN ASKING FOR MONEY. PEOPLE AROUND HERE WILL PAY 15$ A WEEK for you to clean up dog shit out of their yard..... There's no excuse....

Wait..were you not aware that you would have to pay property tax when you made your home purchase ? Was this a surprise when it was due ? If not then you knew and agreed.:hump:

Sounds a little Stockholmy, Homes. Well, actually a lot Stockholmy.

tell those homeless to apply for amazon customer service... all they need is a phone! work from the side walk making killer money, have your checks sent to your P.O box or the mail box at the corner store they are sitting in front of.. and if they do it at night, they get paid even more!

Government policies help to create at least some homelessness.

For instance zoning and regulations increase cost, reduce possible housing options and are a financial disincentive thus leaving fewer dollars for people to be generous with in any charity they would have done.

I'm sure we could make a list of factors, at local, regional and national government level, which can be called "contributors to homelessness", but that doesn't change how some choose the hobo life for reasons they know, so how do you force them into accommodation?

did your kids eat the free lunch when they went to public school ? How about the bus..did they ride it to and from ? Did you ever give any teacher monies directly for the teaching of your children ? Why are you such a mooch and leech ? Tell your beautiful mother I said hello and that her son is an idiot who writes well

There's no such thing as free lunch. Also, it's possible to have a school that doesn't involve threats against a person or their home. Don't you think teaching kids using force to get your way is a bad idea?

Mom's son? An idiot? No, I believe my brother scored in the 90 something percentile when it came to i.q. Graduated with a 4.0 when he got a master's degree too if I remember correctly.

He's the slow one in the family but don't tell him I said that okay?

You don't. Or at least I wouldn't. I have no right to.
