I got a general LED COB question.
I have roughly 3x2 as my main closet. I have a 4 cob setup running at 1400 ma. I run my light passive. How hard are you guys running yours? I get nice buds but I want more from my LEDS!... I was thinking of building an active cooking setup and running them much harder. Thoughts?

How many watts are you pulling?

Proud sponsor of LED's here. Not growing a warehouse full or anything, but with the size of my operation it seems to be doing awesome. MarsHydro 300W inside unique-hydro's 4ft. dual exhaust MaxYield UFO box. 2 OGKush and 1 SuperNova cutting from first grow. So far so good 20180424_213305.jpg 20180424_213323.jpg 20180601_160715.jpg

And please excuse ugly trimming job at one time she was jammed up in the opposite corner before she got moved leaves were folding up under and around air pump. Very happy with them so far lush green leaves awesome healthy white root systems tons of roots fills most of reservoir starting to become a pain to do my water changeouts. Any criticism appreciated only 2nd hydroponic grow feel like we learned alot from our first grow, and learning even more as those buds are going through their curing process. Love every single second of it #growfever

And that's a duct tape modification to reservoir for those who are wondering what all that shotty looking shit is lol Had a small issue with light getting through to our rootzone just came up with something off the fly made the little covers to #growmods

Hmm! Assuming you use a quality brand 36v COB's like Bridgelux, Citizen or Cree 200w above a 2x 3' is almost perfect!
300g(1,5g/w) should be possible with this light and if not you need to improve your grow skills! More light means not automaticly more yield! 30-35w/sft. gives you ~700-800μMol/s PPFD(with quality COB's) and if you go above that level you would need to add CO². It's also more difficult to keep the plants happy with increased intensity(+1000μMol/s/m²). Humidity get's lower, temps and transpiration rate is higher, nutrient requirements are also higher.

Better way would be to optimize your enviroment.
- Are the temps with lights on around 30°C/85°F? Plants under LED need a higher ambient temp for max. photosyntesis.
- Is the humidity still around 60% even when temps are aound 30°C? With lower humidity you got an increased vapor pressure inside the leaves, which means the plant transpirates more water. Is your VPD for instance 25% to high, you need to reduce the nutrients by the same amount.
- Also, 50g/sft is a lot for the most strains. You could use a strain known for higher yields like BlueDream, PurePowerPlant, Chronic or DutchDragon to further increase your yield. Automatics can also yield very high because you could use an 18/6h lightning regime for the whole time which gives you a 50% higher DLI.
You see, there are many ways to get higher yields without changing the light.

Yes CXM22, I got 13 Oz. From my last harvest... king Tut, Blueberry, Prime Crystal and CBDurban. It was just a question. Curious as to what others are doing. Thx for the input

Ya, temps in the high 70’s to low 80’s humidity is around 60-65. My plants pray a lot

According to my calculations, with leds you want 30-35w per sq/ft. Those vipars only draw 418w actual. So you would need 9-11 of them for flower. 4 might do half the room. You might be able to get away with 6 or 8 for the whole room.

If you running 20 5-gal containers then you will probably need eight more of those lights.
