My town is one of the typical towns affected by removing funding for bussing to polling sites, requiring IDs to vote and harassment by Trump "election monitors". That is why the tide cant be turned. All the young people I talk to constantly wish death to the people in power so this town can progress and break free of the situation it is in.

Would you say, though, that the majority in your southern town are still hard core Republican?

Voter suppression works and explains some of the stranglehold white right wing radicals have in the south but is a short term stop to progress, not one that will last long term. That is, not if our democracy still is standing six or eight years hence. I'm still worried about a Republican coup. Small chance but not out of the realm of possibility.
