Man hours per pound to harvest?

30 man hours per pound. IMO I spent about 2 hours on what looks like will be a little less than a zip today. Chopped, trimmed and hung.

A 3/4 time work week to do a pound is pretty rough. I don't mean to be confrontational and don't want to sound like an ass here but in all honesty one person should be able to do anywhere from around 2 to maybe 5-6 pounds in an 8 hour day, not including breaks.

I've ran small crews at my place pulling down 10x10 rooms and 12x32 greenhouses. Even though I never actually tracked it accurately enough for this labor estimate I'm sure that 2 pounds a day is more than a fair minimum. Keep in mind that I want every single leaf that isn't frosty to come off.

Takes the wife and I about 6 - 8 per pound but that is completely trimmed with sugar leaf separated out and all, we also take joint breaks while working :D We are extreme as well there is almost zero leaf left when we are through, just buds on branches.

But we're also still not talking about trimming. Besides, that's paid for by weight.
IDK why your making this so confusing ...

Then I said my hrly working rate would make the cost of a ounce an extra $120.

And then you asked were do people make $60 an hr. Answer to that is everywhere but I didn't say it was in the Cannabis industry.

You started talking about what you get paid hourly elsewhere so I figured it was a safe assumption that you were still talking pay for working in this industry. Since that's been the topic this whole time and wages for other jobs are completely unrelated.

I don't care how much a lawyer, nurse, engineer or anyone else makes at another higher paying job. You're not going to get 60 dollars an hour on one job because that's what you make doing another completely unrelated job.

I don't think the person I quoted gets paid by a 3rd party to harvest and trim...do you?

I didn't say anything about a third party. But yes, some businesses will use third party financing to cover payroll.
Well if someone is going to pay the fellow an hrly rate for him to harvest and trim under an ounce of cannabis in two hrs I think they might need finance to cover payroll.

Small growers forget that their time is worth money and you HAVE to recover that time.
I would not spend 2 hrs trimming an ounce of cannabis as my time is worth $60 an hr. So that would mean instead of selling an ounce for $250 id have to add $120 and sell for $370. Which in my area would mean id be stuck with it.

I think you mistook my first comment and our convo has drifted a little from what the point of the thread is.

Good luck with the Business plan and financing. I know its a tough gig in the states at the moment and may get tougher.

Trim.ming is paid by weight. My original question was about man hours to process at harvest while leaving all of the trim intact. There has definitely been some "drift" here.
lol my quoting and reply to Retired guerrilla had nothing to do with your original post., Just like his original post. If trimming is paid by weight it still works out to a dollar amount if like me your employed elsewhere...Which was the point of my post....

If I can earn $60 an hr elsewhere then that's how much my time must be worth working right?
So that means if I spend 2 hrs harvesting and trimming and hanging (which Retired Guerrillas did) for less than an ounce. Then my time has to factor into the costs right?

There are some breakdown of time and costs in this vid if it helps.
