So tell me more about this great power saving when someone then has to have heaters on with their lights? Also I suggest not trying to justify indoor growing in California as saving humanity lol Wanna be an ethical grower grow outside. LED does not somehow make someone more ethical in regards to saving humanity. Just like being Vegan doesn't.
Again like I said the touting of either being the best in every situation is complete and total bullshit. The best is what works best for the growing situation it is being used in and the grower using it. Neither type of lighting reigns universally supreme ATM.
Cheers
They are not listening. I have put up info explaining the power savings and cost of heat here on a few of these threads and am only ignored or told I am wrong and “have” to try.
But I have tried a few different led weeds. They always insist I must not have. The spectrum is actually better for flowering marijuana with my Hortilux supers or a cmh. Or both is even better.
Don’t have to believe me. The universities of Michigan and Utah say so. I have linked info more than once here.
And the u of m is testing discreet colored diodes to dial in specific crops for the Horticulture industry. No mention of full spectrum “white” lighting except to include it with the other color diodes.
Manufacturers are going to use that info to produce grow lighting not this forums. And it is getting closer to us seeing them. The fact that Hortilux is now doing it should tell you. A big company like Eye lighting will Put a toe in the water first then later to full production. But if they are selling it. It isn’t a trial it is the beginning.
The forum led companies do not want you to know that. It’s easy enough to search. There is tons of led info posted from universities in the last few years.
And the average numbers posted in this thread I can achieve easily with hps. I do over a gram per watt easy. With 600 hps. If I were to monocrop with a trellis or scrog I could do much better.
And I am pretty sure my quality is ok.
and Cobs are re purposed street/ warehouse lights just like hps. They are not made as grow lights from the manufacturer. They have commercial and industrial applications.
There are many tools for the job but I don’t see one much better or worse than another.
I was sold on cmh until I found out it cost me 30% yield compared a 600 hps. And I thought the quality was markedly higher.
Until I took it out of the room and the weed was just as potent if not more.
How the Grow goes is much more important than which lighting used.
Sorry for the long rant but I can’t stand agenda driven arguments. And this thread actually shows that the grower is more important than the lighting. Look at the varied results.
Why is reasonable middle ground so unreasonable in these discussions.
I already know the answer. Personal investment is always the answer.
