I heard an interesting take on watching people or places/things/animals that you love die: it's an honor to be there in the end of something beautiful, and to bare whitness to the passing of something great. It helps give justice to the process, because others don't appreciate and fully realize what the Earth has lost. The worst part of growing old (besides the aches and pains) is watching your friends and family drop dead.
Congratulations, I didn't feel a difference yesterday but social convention seems to say I should.Well... I made 50 today......
When I went to school the teachers would beat the crap out of you with a paddle for minor infractions. I remember someone stole some bus tokens off the teachers desk and they made a big deal out of it with the principal coming in and giving a big lecture on honesty. When my kid took a video game to school and it was stolen they acted like "meh,no big deal, it was his fault for not locking it up".We certainly grew up in different times. I went to a large, combined middle/high school for a time, and we didn't have a "School Resource Officer". The only cops that were at the school were narc's. Even when fights broke out between a student and a teacher, I never remember a cop showing up. It was always handled by the admin.
In fact, when I went to college, in an urban environment near boston no less, our school police officers didn't carry guns. Yup, it was a barney fife squad. The feeling was the students were safer if the police weren't armed.
Not anymore........
Dunno, do you look over 50?I feel over 50 does that count
In Florida everyone gets to exempt a certain amount on taxes of their homestead. There is some other add ons for disabled vets, widows, blind, etc, etc. Not sure if just being old counts. Florida would go broke doing that. lolSome states/counties have "Homestead Exemptions" on real property (land taxes) if you're a Senior (usually 65>), Disabled or a surviving spouse. You may not necessarily be notified you qualify for the exemption. Info should be on the site where you pay your property taxes or local county auditors office.
Make America safe again; shoot the police. We certainly grew up in different times. I went to a large, combined middle/high school for a time, and we didn't have a "School Resource Officer". Thanks for this. My dog is my best friend and he's not long for this world. I'm going to miss him.I heard an interesting take on watching people or places/things/animals that you love die: it's an honor to be there in the end of something beautiful, and to bare whitness to the passing of something great. everyone should have a MySSA account, especially to confirm the income amounts that are used to calculate your SS retirement amount. If there are errors, it is much, much easier to fix this prior to the start of the "G" issuing you checks. It used to be they issued you a paper statement but I haven't seen one in some time. All the info is in your online account. Edit: This also will help prevent anyone from hacking/using your SSN and THEIR address to do whatever. Multiple security features
