hello,
Okay I'll pick you brains for a few questions (well more that a few)
I'm on my first grow in many years and I'm trying to get it right the first time. I have already spent money on things I thought was right but had to basically buy everything twice. My original idea was to use 2 2x4 grow rooms and use led lights.
Any how here is my setup as of tonight:
8x10 Vivosun grow room
2 1000w cheap grow lights (Vander life)
6" 390 CFM exhaust fan
dehumidifier (In grow room)
fan
Using a passive intake system I can keep the grow room 5-8deg above house temp pretty steady. Grow room stays between 75-80deg through out the day 47-51% humidity.

I plan to use half of the grow room for the plants 4x4, growing Critical Mass x AK47 just over a week old from seedlings in med pots right now. I'm using the Technaflora starter kit for nutrients but have only used root 66 once when transplanting 1-1-1. Water is ph 6.5, fox farm frog soil. Not sure to go with 3 or 5 gallon grow bags for final pots yet.

Questions:
1. How long can or should I keep them in these med pots before transplanting to the final grow bag? (I was thinking about the 3 node).
2. I'm ditching the LED's and getting a 630w CMH light next pay check but what light spectrum bulb should I use? 3100k, 3400k, or 3500k. or mix them up if possible?
3. Is my humidity to low for my babies right now?
4. When and how should I start using the nutrients (I keep hearing 2 weeks after final transplant) true of false.
During flowering I plan to introduce UV-B lighting what is the best way it introduce this to the plants (Thinking 15min every 2 hours at first for a week the get them up to 15min per hour throughout flowering)
5. I appreciate all advice and tips in advance. going to you website now to check it out.
What I started with

where I'm at now 2 weeks later and about 800.00 poorer buy happy

Lookin' good!

The tech changes quickly, and there are a lot of opinions on what works best!

Your temperature is within acceptable range, and though 60-70% humidity is best, you can get by with 50% by misting the plants daily while in veg, preferably before the lights come on leaving enough time to dry.

Transplant when the plant has filled the pot it is in - The rule I use is the plant needs to be as tall as the pot to be ready to transplant. Final pot size correlates to final plant size.

3000K - 3500K are in the red spectrum, your preference will decide bulb choice. I like to use 4500K in veg, and swap out one for a 3100K in flower. Consider that when you use HID lamps such as CMH, the heat output is much higher compared to LED, and more air flow or spot cooler may be required depending on your climate.

Technaflora fortunately has a very easy to follow mixing chart you can find on their site. https://www.technaflora.com/downloads/USA2009.pdf

Due to the dangers and destructive nature of UV light, we cannot give advice on the topic. Feel free to call us for more information (707) 588-8844 or email sales@monstergardens

Hey Dynamo! Thanks for the support! Dr. Watt works VERY hard to obtain that data in those videos, we're glad it's providing value to you and your customers.

In regards to the 630w CMH, we don't have anything planned besides a thorough analysis of the Nanolux 1000w DE in the near future, but I feel I need to mention one important note about this "new" tech in the Industry. One manufacturer of this technology is claiming to offer a fixture that will support both the 1000w DE HPS lamp and the 1000w CMH lamp. Here's the problem, in order for a ballast to properly fire a 1000w DE HPS lamp, it needs to be pushing 100+kH, where the CMH only requires 100-200H. Over-powering a bulb like this can be dangerous if the outer jacket isn't dependable the bulb can explode! Nanolux, so far, is the only manufacturer that we know off who's tuned the ballast specifically for a 1000w CMH DE. Cheers!

Hm isnt the hortilux platnum a 1000w low frequency square wave ballast? Not that i would use a 600.00 ballast lol. Also i spoke with a nanolux rep a few months ago. Im excited for there 990w cmh.

@Monster Gardens welcome to RIU. If I am ever in need of anything I will look you up. As far as your website goes for nutrients, you may have to look into another RIU partner selling Mega Crop. Allot of people are using it and they can use some extra sellers to get the word out about their fantastic product. Maybe you can be a future seller.
