That`s very interesting point. I saw some guy here. that used just royal blue at night, so he has 12/12 vegging. But that was old thread... Anyway. I like to see news aboutHey CobKits,
Is there a chance that we can buy the blue ones someday? I'm interessted to use intense blue only for an additional last week. I have seen a youtube video from a commercial US grower who use the blues as "terpene enhancer" and when it's true what he said there is no reason for uvb bulbs in the future.
But I've losed the link and do not find it atm, shit. If I still find it, I will post the link later or pm it. But I am sure that the video is linked elswhere here in the forum but don't remember where. Maybe, as heavy user, you have already seen it..?
F..., and again only the second!
its not on site,,, im lazy theyre in the pile of misfit toys hanging with pots and fans and other stuffYeah. I saw this diagrams for amber/blue, and checked datasheet. But no any opinions and reviews so I decide to try them. And didn`t find amber citi at your website.
what does datasheet say (sorry im not up to speed on 1812 - i think they run higher voltage than 1818 for a given wattage)By the way. could you please check my math.
I have MW HLG320 - 1050B. Will they work with 5 1812 at 50w?
i cant recommend 3590s when there are equivalent choices at half the priceAnd could you please give me advise, what are best choise for 3590 at 36w - 50w drivers? for like 40 of 3590?
thnx, Bro! appreciate for your reply. interesting to know about your results and opinion about this amber cobs after you will clean up all your pots. and turn off your fansits not on site,,, im lazy theyre in the pile of misfit toys hanging with pots and fans and other stuff

hlg-185-1400B or 1050 are the most popular drivers for CXB.
the first will run 4 chips, the second maybe 6?
get some 600-36b and run then at 36V or less where they are super efficientAbout drivers. I would choose 600-36v. As I sad, I have like 40 pcs of 36v cxb. so I need massive drivers to take care of all that leds.
Hi..did you ever find the time to try those blue cob? I'm really curious about that ise as alternative to uvb tubes to increase THC...hoping my bad eng question is understable. That`s very interesting point. CLU048-1812C4-B455-XX I will get 30 pcs next month. ordered in China out of my partner. But need to wait until they got it out of Japan...
By the way I am waiting CLU048-1812C4-22AL1K3 30 pcs. Will get them next couple weeks. So if we have any information about using them. I would appreciate any links, experience and etc. Tryed to find out any info, but useless. will try to veg with cxb 3590 3500k,4000k 80 cri and blue citi and flower with cxb3590 3000k 90cri and this amber citi cobs.

i just read this thread and thought the same thing.
@Randomblame how about you? ever run blue at the end of flowering?
Nope! I did not until today but I have added 10% 425nm purple-blue and 10% 660nm deepred to one of my smaller white LED light(125w) and the additional blue has some visible effects.
Leaves are slightly smaller and more dark green, internodes are shorter and branching is enhanced. It also has positive effects on resin formation and terpenes and the plants generally look healthier.
I'll use an UVB/UVA reptile tube for a few hours daily from beginning of flowering until the end but that's the first time. So no own experience yet.
If it is to improve the potency, we need very broadband blue/UV, preferably from 290-450nm. That would be very expensive with LEDs. Therefore, for us "not professionals" such a tube is much better. They are usually CRI90 and provide a coolwhite light between 6000-10.000°k, so plenty of blue wavelength.(30/10% UV-A/B + 60% coolwhite)
Only 445nm blue for an additional week should not have such an impact like UV-A/B. While I have seen this youtube video as well, if 450nm would be enough, many more people would use blue for an additional week and it would be much better known. Unfortunately, he does not say which wavelengths he uses exactly for the extra week but I'm pretty sure they use some additional UVA too.
Look out for burnt leaf margins, these are the first signs of UV stress. I would switch on the tube only once a day (1-4 hours at noon), because these types of tubes age with the switching cycles not only after hours.i ran UVA/UVB 25%/75% for the first time last run. started with too much and plants suffered. quickly learned 15 mins an hour for a few hours in the middle of the lighting cycle is all they need. plants did end up much frostier.
ok, i will take your advice and change my timer. i will only run them for 1 hour a light cycle. too much really stresses the plants.Look out for burnt leaf margins, these are the first signs of UV stress. At 15 minutes per hour, the tube would age much faster because for 1,5h/day it would have to be turned on and off six times daily. The less it turns on and off, the better.
Which tube did you use? My reptile tube will hang in the middle, about 12 "above the canopy, but on the same level with the LED's. I already built the frame, but wait for the drivers. Delivery date is week 8/2018...ok, i will take your advice and change my timer. i will only run them for 1 hour a light cycle. too much really stresses the plants.
i also have my UVB tubes @ 24" minimum above the canopy, 36" is probably better
Try arcadia d3 + 12% 39 watt .....Which tube did you use? My reptile tube will hang in the middle, about 12 "above the canopy, but on the same level with the LED's. I already built the frame, but wait for the drivers. Delivery date is week 8/2018...

Yeah, those AgroMax tubes seems really strong. Unfortunately customs and shipping makes them unrentable for me so I will try it with T5 reptile bulps and hope 12" is enough to avoid damage.in my limited UVB experience 12" is too close.
i have 2 - 2 foot AgroMax bulbs. i hear the reptile bulbs are not as intense, however, so 12" may be doable.
i keep my UV lights on separate rachet hangers.
Try arcadia d3 + 12% 39 watt .....
Nice....have run arcadia 39w entire cycle with reflector at 16-18 " range....no issue...Yeah, those AgroMax tubes seems really strong. Unfortunately customs and shipping makes them unrentable for me so I will try it with T5 reptile bulps and hope 12" is enough to avoid damage.
That's the tube I will try for the first time. I don't think it's too strong because Arcadia claims it's good for terraristic plants. It depends on how long per day it is running.
I will start with 1h at noon and increase slowly untill I see burned leaf margins.
That's what a well-known manufacturer recommends using UVB tubes:
Use two Flower Power 4ft. Tubes á 54w per 1000W hood, one on each side for an even coverage, 12" to 24" away from the plants (continues to be weaker, so must be done for a longer time, but covers a larger area).
Run it 1 to 4 times a day, 1 to 6 hours per cycle for up to 12 hours (single cycle).
