I am a very responsible gun owner. Again I have taught my children! They know better.

Have you ever thought that maybe your home defense strategy depends on your individual situation?
In my situation, I have firearms for home defense that are accessible but secure.
I don't need a pistol within reach at any given moment.
Dogs also help.
Does that make sense?

Exactly. And I'll say it again. ALL kids do stupid shit. They do not have the developmental capacity at 8 and 10 to have the forethought to understand "consequence" but there will always be those parents that think they're kids are somehow different or "special" and their family is immune from tragedy. I've seen it and I've experienced it.
Why anyone would increase the odds of losing one of their precious children is beyond me. It all boils down to their fucking ego!
Fuck this stupid thread and the imbecilic gun owners that shouldn't be allowed to own guns much less breed.

The ONLY exception I can think of is if you live a sustenance lifestyle and even then, guns are used as tools. Not left loaded laying about the house.

How can you defend your home when an intruder comes in and all of your guns are locked? That makes no sense at all.

Why bother having a gun(s) in the home then?


When my kids were strong enough to use guns properly they were taught! They were taught gun safety, they know what guns can do and do to people. Therefore they do not touch them.

You are naive to think that kids will always act responsibly.

I'm glad nobody has been hurt but it's not due to leaving guns about the house. 1300 kids were killed or injured by guns last year, most were from kids doing what kids do and most of those families thought the same as you.
