Jumping white bugs with runoff. What are they??

Hey everyone, I have 2, 5 gallon smart pot plants, in happy frog soil, feeding advanced nutrients tarantula, bud candy, B52, connoisseur grow a&b, calmag plus, and Orca Mycorrhizae. I have these little white tiny (some black)bugs jumping around In the run off. Can anyone tell me what they are?

Springtails there is some debate on them being beneficial if your planters have too many, before I had a good imp I would occasionally get them...

The way to not get pests is to wash and change clothes every time before entering the Grow rooms.

And never bring anything from outside in.

I also clean anything that goes in or out like tools and stands and stuff with alcohol or h2o2.

I have never sprayed for bugs or even seen more than a couple of gnats which went away when I improved airflow. I had the plants to densely packed.

But springtails are everywhere in the topsoil and like to come inside in winter. They are very difficult to kill. They are resistant to everything. And I won’t use poisons. They are harmless and even beneficial if not let to get to high numbers. They are irritating though.

Over watering and unstable environment and sick plants all bring pests too.

Ya just means you got some straight up dope soil, increase water frequency if they get out of control, great at jumping shit at swimming ;-)

So basically the grow area has to be hermetically sealed and you need a hazmat suit if you do step into the sealed environment.

That's easy with a grow tent but what about the room that the tent is in?

Do carpets need to be scrubbed and cleaned.

I cleaned my room as best I can and sanitized the tents after they came from the factory.

How clean does it have to be. I hope those bugs don't jump on your clothes as soon as you go outside.

Are we talking springtails? They die once they leave soil for a short time, build up on grow room floor if they cant find moisture.

What about all the other bugs like spider mites for example. To keep those out and other pests you can never bring clothes from outside near the grow tents? What are other preventive measures to keep things totally clean.

I can't believe how fast my seedling got black spot mold when the lights and fan were off. Being in the closet with the door cracked open wasn't enough air flow which surprised me.

You know thrips broke me, i had to study, meditate and become one with mother fucking natures ninja pest. Many moons would i wait in ambush carefully, silent and deadly like the prey i stalk. Finally the apprentice beats the master, a moment of victory or a realization of respect.

What can i say, you learn to deal with pests, i run a catch and release, too many bloody battles and needless deaths, it takes its toll on your nerves, others can bring fire and fury but i run small tents so can be more at one with that bitch nature :-)

Carpet is not recommended. It can hold pests and mold. But I never had a problem when I used a tent in a carpeted room. Just vacuumed often and followed the rest of what I wrote.

Depends where you live as far as what pests you may piggyback in. Pets are carriers too.

You may need a humidifier or dehumidifier to keep a safe environment too. I use both in Michigan.

As far as the rooms. I washed every surface with h2o2 and amonia before setting up. And clean often.

I had a new carpet at the time but with an old carpet I would sanitize and likely cover with plastic.

How do you sanatize a carpet? Can I just put a sheet over the carpet after it's cleaned.

That's good that the tent is its own protection but I'm going to clean the carpet anyway with one part cleaner and one part boiling water and put it in the carpet cleaner machine that spreads it around.

Cloth sheets over the carpet so adleast I can throw them in the wash if they get dirty so I don't have to clean the carpet all the time lol.
