So I'm thinking for short term, since I need a fix asap, I'll be switching my 6" intake to exhaust with the carbon filter. That's gotta help a little. And it should surely change it from pos pressure to neg you would think.

Just look up passive intake bud

Its easy if your using an 8 inch hole you want the passive air intake to be twice the size more or less i made about a 4x12 for my 8 inch and theres a huge vaccum when she is full blast

smaller the hole for the intake the greater the vacum will be at the cost of pushing your fan harder.

Theres a good calculator if you search fan and filter size for your room.

Obviously if that plastic is bubbling you got pos stack .

Dampers are a good thing when fans are off but for complete odir control you might need to run the exhast 24/7 with a fan speed controller so it doesnt make it too cold un your room.

Hope it helps ,nice plants good job :)

If it helps mines a vortex s line fan 8 inch 728 cfm 230 ish watts if this fan dies i will replace it with a bigger 10 inch fan on a variable control

Looking good. You have a cat or a dog?
Haha yeah two dogs. I have hairs here and there on the tops. I try to wear long sleeves because of the UV from the cmh's, hair gets all over when I work with the plants

Edit: Not all over, they dont shed much but still get hairs here and there.

Thanks I'll keep that in mind! Definitely have to get rid of the pos pressure! Temps have already begun dropping too low because of winter so I went out and got a heater last weekend. For now I'll take the 6" inline from the intake and try leaving the ducting and registers as passive intake and set the 6" up with my 6" carbon filter from my first grow that was in a 5x5. The opening on the intake I believe is 12x5 inches. Lights out soon so I'll have to set it up tomorrow after work, we'll see how it goes.. I got good vibes

Not sure what I'm doing wrong here. The room is 9.5x9 feet with roughly a 9x4 canopy. 8"inline fan attached to carbon filter in the room, venting into large "crawl space" through a hole in a door. I've got two jars of ona gel that I keep the lid off of, one upstairs and one down, re shake them daily as well as an automatic air freshener upstairs.
The other day I attached some thick plastic to the frame of the grow room door(door stays closed) via velcro and it seals well because the plastic bubbles out pretty hard.
Which brings me to my next point, I have "positive" air pressure in my grow room which I think is part of the problem, but I don't know why because the exhaust is an 8" inline and the intake is 6"(inline fan). Even when I turn the 6" down to low it doesn't change the positive air pressure. I tried shutting it off yesterday(intake) and temps began to rise fairly quick. So I don't know why I can't get negative air pressure going.

The plants are exceeding my expectations for just my 2nd grow, which is good but maybe that's why I can't control the odor? Sometimes theres nothing you can do?? Theres got to be something. With a canopy of that size and odor, will adding more ona gel or air fresheners do much of anything? The carbon filter is by vivosun and has only been running for 1.5 to 2 months. It's a pretty small house, 950 sq/ft upstairs.
Is there anything anyone can think of that could help??

I only have ever been in trouble with the law once, when I was a teen and didn't have a clue what I was doing and grew a bunch of seedy outdoor weed and was raided upon trimming because of the odor around the neighborhood. The odor outside now is nowhere near as strong as it was then thank god(I had a couple 55 gal barrels full of buds, trimming in my bedroom, no cf or anything. Yes i know). But there is 100% a hint of some skunky mj in the air outside right now.

I so appreciate any help!!!!!View attachment 4071018My intake, via hole in the wall. Pulling air from the rest of my basement, pretty big area, atleast 2/3 the sq/ft of the upstairs.View attachment 4071019exhaust. The crawl space is a fairly big area too. Maybe double the sq/ft of the room, and I believe wraps around the house and because of half finished drywalling the air recycles back into the main part of the basement.View attachment 40710203 oscillating fans if that has anything to do with it. This room is pretty sealed up, no windows in it.

Grow room door. It's not a perfect fit to the frame. Long story. It's an old house and the door frame has a very odd measurement. No stores around me would make me a door to fit it.

Hope I'm not forgetting any important details, head is spinning a bit!

Just make sure the ozone goes outside as its not good for plants and people ..
Its also an oxidizer if i remember right.
Kinda like uv will make plastic brittle

This is not first hand knowledge though:)
Just an uneducated recollection lol

I'll do a little research on them. It's amazing how you can just never run out of things to learn about or try in the cultivation of cannabis, ya gotta love it

Have you yet heard of a neighbor remarking that there must be skunks in the neighborhood and that one must have got run over? I guess that won't do if there's a skunk seemingly being run over every day for weeks on end, lol!

I would order a TD silent fan. They put out a tiny bit less air than a noisy fan but they are very efficient and quiet. the smaller ones run at about 20db. They also cost a little more.

Is noise a factor? I envy the size of his crop and a full room to grow it in, and him living in a house and not a shared dwelling. I would think noise would not be a factor. A rethink of my air circulation and carbon scrubbing might be in order if I had that setup. Costly? Maybe. Probably.

Its not THAT much more expensive. Even if not for privacy, an ordinary extractor fan in the house can be distractingly loud.

put the carbon filter and fan INSIDE the grow room and have it exhaust outside the room. Make hole that is going to be passive in the room, 6 or 8" ducting with a couple bends or just wind it in a circle and light will not leak into the room. Make sure there is no leak between the fan and filter connection, leaks anywhere past the fan output are fine as it will just leak filtered air.

also that carbon filter looks a bit small for the fan so you may want to first find out the flow for it then get a VARIAC and tune it down a bit. or get a real carbon filter like canfilter CAN 100 or 150 and be worry free for a couple years.
