After further reading, I've found this..

It’s true that plants appear green because leaves reflect more green light than other visible wavelengths, but typically only around 5 to 10 percent of green light is reflected, and the rest is absorbed (roughly 85 percent) or transmitted (5 to 10 percent) through the leaf. Light transmitted through one leaf is subsequently available to leaves below, so those photons are still potentially useful to plants. In addition, pigments other than chlorophyll absorb green light to make it useful for photosynthesis. Therefore, green photons are essentially as useful to plants for photosynthesis as red and blue photons.
Which completely flies in the face of what I've understood in the past.

Still looking for where its shown that red and blue spectrums are transmitted at smaller rates (5-10%) than green spectrums...
There is no such thing as right or wrong - only different levels of understanding.

Because NASA was so kind to test this for us. The energy needed to provide green light cannot be justified by yield.
Ahhh.

Now I'm interested to see (or do) a grow that uses a high green spectrum output. Like the 10000k Philips T5 bulb the other fella pointed out earlier.

Tomorrow?? today why not? Was the link lost or does it still not exist?
Another one? now it does not smell bad, it smells to dead......., in the end we have all alibaba scamers selling boards in the forum,
@Stephenj37826 @CobKits @robincnn and many others paying the advertising in the forum and these scamers open a user in the forum to scam people, and free?
I think @rollitup should take action against this thread as they detect several fraudsters Chinese trying to cheat forum users.
I have detected more than one scamer in the thread. Someone is going to take a pleasant surprise, Lol.
Because I'm a new member and can't post links in a day haha

He just argues for the sake of arguing . You could both be looking at a blue wall and he would argue it is black best way to get rid of him is to ignore him and get back to what this thread is actually about

No it does not produce averaged lightwaves, it produces an averaged SPECTRUM. CCT describes a SPECTRUM, not individual lightwaves. Both CCTs produce lightwaves ALL ACROSS the visible spectrum (not just two frequencies), differing only by the amount of photons at various frequencies. it is the amount of photons produced at various bands that determine the CCT. As CCT increases the spectrum shifts towards the blue end.
I thought CCT is determined by phosphorous layer coating over chip. Higher coating equals lower color temperature.

nfhiggs' observation is moot to my premise.

i could have bought 6 boards of 3000k and 6 boards of 4000k, and then I could have run the 4000k boards during veg, and moved to 3000k boards for flower. then i saw that The Dawg grew beautiful nugs using 4000k, so I decided to buy 12 mix diode boards to experiment with the outcome.

I agree, a 3000k diode and a 3500k diode both emit wavelengths in the same nanometer. Would you agree that the 3000k diode emits more (far reds) than the 3500k diodes do? Remember, the graph shows distributed normalization.
4000k 90 cri with 1750k meat chips !!!!

Ok, perfect! Then I made the right decision.
Are you really not grasping the fact that it's the same as 3500k? No one is saying what your doing won't work it's just no different than 3500k so it's really pointless to mix the diodes. That's why you won't see companies doing what your doing the only benefit would be a marketing they could pretend it helps an people like you will pay a premium.

You are correct sir it's the same led for all the color temps just the coating is different. But see4 will never admit he is wrong he thinks he found something new and great if only that were true
