When my buddy gets qp's I get an ounce of it. The last two he got were 300 and 360. Both pretty good. It does make me question my little hobby grows. If you count my time, my homegrown costs much more than that. But it's basically free if you don't count the time. And you can have as many flavors as you want.

If you count my time, my homegrown costs much more than that. But it's basically free if you don't count the time. And you can have as many flavors as you want.

You can't count the time if it's strictly a personal stash/hobby grow. Putting a dollar per hour value on what you do with your free time is depressing.

My last job driving oil tankers paid $40+/hr so if I used that for my time growing pot I'm paying about 4G a pound.

I still continue to grow and always will for myself. But at those prices it just doesn't seem worth it to do it in a large way, especially indoors here. Back in the day we were selling brick (top shelf brown weed lol) at those prices in quantity (5lbs min) and killing it. Outdoor blueberry we grew was $1500 in quantity and that made a few people very comfortable . Seen some amazing changes in the last 42 years and expect a few more lol. And yes my time has for some reason become very valuable as I seem to have very little .

It's been a bit since I bought any from the local guys and was shocked, last I bought it, it was $1600. The native dispensaries are $8 a gram on average for some pretty good indoor. My electrical costs are over the top and I'm going to have to figure it out to see if the indoor is even close to worth it, as much as I love my hydro . Outdoor was always my deal as a youngster lol, I may have to go back to my roots so to speak.

That is a much more eloquent version of what I was trying to say. The older I get the more I realize that the time I spend doing the things I love to do is too important and too finite to place a dollar value on.

Yea by the time you factor indoor costs such a dirt, seeds and electric it can cost you 50-75 an ounce and that doesn't include the risk and sweat equity.

Seems about right. I did the math on my last run and it cost me about 20 bucks an ounce, but how you grow effects that operating cost pretty significantly. I love growing, so even when it is stress inducing it is still one of my favorite things to do.

I love growing, and will continue to do so. But I don't let anything get in the way of my hiking. My poor Darwin Dope patches have to get by one their own sometimes, but I'm going to get my days on the trail.

The amount of effort we put in would kill this old dog, I may need to get an apprentice when I fully retire to supplement the income in my golden years lol. I hope the prices go up . With the government pricing approaching $10 a gram I could work with that margin .

The other option is to be able to make a good margin on $1/gram...

Folks make good money at half a penny a pound for all that stuff at the grocery store, how hard could it be?
