Yeah I fucking love that song! It's weird, catchy, clever and still sounds good 44 years after it was written!
How's your plants doing mate? Are the ones in the shed, wrapped up in your Ma's blanket surviving OK?
Yea ok. I treated them to a polystyrene board iid saved off a cooker i bought.
Temps were a cool min of 10oC grrr.
I moved the Wappa to warmer climate and stuck 2 ss2's into it' place.
Stretching more for definite but nothing I can' handle

Been reading a bit about Brassinolide....anyone used/know of this? It's a naturally occurring plant hormone. This stuff is supposed to make plants turn on the supercharger. Apparently it is found in the pollen of rape seed and good for cell division and elongation of stems/branches amongst other things. Sounds very interesting!
It's available on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Brassinolide-0-2-10g-International-PGR-With-Instructions-Spoon-Rebate/221781474978?epid=1847311602&hash=item33a334bea2:g:bQQAAOSwxp9W8wBG

Hmm!
I'm not a big friend of concentrated plant hormones. Not undangerous and some hormones like this evaporate already at room temperature. You do not want such vapors in your apartment, trust me. This is for pro's, IMO.
Then you have to make sure that it is usable with Tria. like gib. acid for example, because you want to use it too.
A wrong dose can quickly lead to mutations and every strain reacts slightly differently to hormones. In the worst case, the treatment ends fatally for the plant.
If you start with hormones use only one, eg. tria.
For the first time you could make a 1gal. brew of alfalfa grass, which is a natural source and difficult to overdose. I like to add horsetail for additional silicon and epsom salt for additional mag., because they need a lot of this minerals when their cell formation is accelerated.
But avoid alfalfa pellets or brikets for horses that are mostly mixed with molasses or other sugars and the brew starts to form alc.. Alfalfa hay for rabbits is good!
If you can not find a place with horsetail, get it from the pharmacy. It is sold as a tea.
Brew it for 5-7 days at room temperature, put 1 cup per gallon water every 2 weeks and put the rest in the refrigerator.
You can also soak seeds in it for ~12-24h before sowing.

At the moment there is a real hype about these homon concentrates.
But I find that more questionable because they are not harmless to the environment. There are strict requirements for their use in the EU. Rest of it may under no circumstances get into the drinking water!!!
No idea what it looks like in the private sector, but I do not think that all private users pay enough attention here.

Of course, it can be doneView attachment 4044860 later, no problem. Simple cut one of the wires and solder the switch in between.
Since there are only 10v in the dimming circuit you can use the cheapest mini switch you can find.
Like this below, 10pcs. 1£, e3ay!
The datasheets specify using a Double pole switch to cut both L and N.

I suggest you guys go to the Meanwell site and look up installation and test data sheets, not just product data sheets.
They have interesting info like how many of these can fit on your mains fuse, or graphs showing you can only get 80% load when mounting these passively in a horizontal position.

You should read my post carefully. We are talking about the dimming wires and an on/off switch only for the dimming function(10v, blue and white wires next to the dc output). Not an on/off switch for the driver.
AC side is completely different thing.

And this with the 80% is also not true!
Vertical mounting is recommended for better cooling, but not mandatory. Only when the ambient temperature is very high, it could give you noticeable effects.
I had a HLG-185H-C1400 horizontal and built-in in an additional housing and get the full 200w. I also had it hung vertically and without a housing on a wall outside of the tent(20 instead of 25°) and yet it delivered still only 200w.
The restriction you have described does not exist in that form.

You are right, I had another driver in my mind.
I really had to go look at a lot of pages now to find the source of my confusion, as the new datasheet format shows a different format.

Anyhow, this is the little bugger, and how cool drivers just like cool COBs lead to higher performance.

No probs, mate!
You are clearly reading too many datasheets or sleep to not enough, but I know that also and mixed up a lot in the past.
That picture is from completely different driver with low constant voltage. Not suitable for most LED setups we use anyway. An SP-150-12 can be used for 12v flex strips but there are better and cheaper solutions.

You make some good points. It's important to be responsible when using these things, both for the user and the environment.

The concentration I plan to use is low - 2% pure - and will be watered down further. I've checked on a reputable website and there are no dangers with using it at low concentrations except it could be an irritation to skin/eyes but isn't associated with cancer or disruption to human physiology. It doesn't appear to be harmful to animals at low concentrations either and, since I'll be using it indoors only it should be fine.
I'm going to give it a try without the Triacontanol and see what happens!

I only see a test on rats. Fish and insects are much more susceptible to such chemicals and the effects on genetics are also not tested. Remember, Contagan has also been said to have no side effect.
We already have so many pollutants in the air that the industry claims are harmless. I think here, for example on bromides, such as those used in flame-retardant substances.
They make sure that the population becomes more and more stupid. That's fact! There is already a measurable difference in the intelligence of our children, because they cause a defective hormone production in the thyroid of children, which in turn leads to abnormalities in the brain, but yet these substances continue to be used.
I wish you good luck and success with these substances, but I'm out ... sorry!
Maybe I'm just too scared !?
Maybe it's because I do not take steroids myself...?!
I do not need bodybuilding plants, it's enough for me if they are alive and kicking...

Because it is naturally occurring - if you live near a field of rape seed you've probably ingested this anyway - I'm not too bothered. It breaks down quite easily/quickly anyway so I think I won't start growing fins or a beak lol.

I remember back in the 90's there were articles in New Scientist regarding fish changing sex probably due to hormones being put into rivers etc via farmers fields or pipes coming from industrial areas. That is scary stuff. I'm sure, as you say, these are affecting humans in an adverse way today.
