Concealed carry requires a class and proof of competency. At least the one I took.

My brother said it was almost too easy to get his here in Oregon, I haven't gotten mine yet. We both took hunter safety at a young age, but I don't think it is required for legal adults.

I mostly agree with your point, though I think the majority of cops are decent people, and I'd hope they take their training more seriously than the average citizen.

Some schools still have trap shooting teams.

I think its a good idea to introduce and train anyone interested in guns at an early age.
