What you're doing is what I would recommend for someone that wants to stay in smaller pots.

I add a wetting agent if it's the first time im mixing the soil. I just use plain dish soap. My soil is mostly humus, worm castings, perlite, and rice hulls. All the peat has probably broken down at this point. I don't even have to add amendments. I just mulch with worm castings from my worm bin every few weeks.

I would stick with the Bio-Live throughout, I would just top dress with another 1/2 cup per plant right when you switch to flower.

And that should take you through to the end my friend!

Rasta that's a big help. Super simple I'll definitely try the bio live and report back. Do I need to add lime or oyster shell flower if I mix the bio live with pro mix?

No, promix is already ph'ed and the bio live has some stuff that'll break down into calcium carbonate and keep your ph solid.

We are running Bluesky for the first time here and so far it is absolutely awesome. Had a helluva time getting a prepackaged organic soil here in Eastern Canada. Sohum was available but they provide no additional boosters and I question their soils ability to perform through a long veg and flower cycle without adding anything along the way. Maybe for a smaller grow, or SOG setup it would work. Not knocking them by anymeans but...

We ordered a pile of it. Couldn't be happier with the quality of the soil, and the support that comes with it. Can't speak for the flower results yet but so far its a cake walk compared to everything else we have run. Nothing better than supporting a Canadian company as well.

The Bud hardener is the only product in the line that isn't certified organic apparently...

No i dont work for them either...

Could you grow in the Bluesky veg to trim in 5ga pots without adding their supplements? IMO this is something any supersoil should be able to do, like the Kind soil. I'll have to keep the plants low though, as I'm growing in a 48" tent.

I just started my own mix... I would suggest doing the same thing. You probably live in a bigger city then me and can make it happen easier. If you have that small of a tent why don't you just put 1 pot in there as big as it can fit

I want to grow 2 differents strains in my tent for a little variety.

The thing is, in live in a small appartment in the middle of the city with no space to make my own soil... Also, normally you have to let the soil cook and now the temperature doesn't allow that. Only option is to buy pre-made, even if it costs more...

That's why I'd like to know how this soil compares to Kind soil...

Put two plants in your big pot. Grab a bag of compost put it in your back pack. Next day go and grab a small bag of perlite then use your old promix. Rasta Roy told me about biolive and mix that in so I did. Only place I know in Canada is bustan.ca then you are set for a long time. Organics seems more fun so far to me

So what you are saying is Compost + Perlite + Biolive gets you great results?

What would you get as compost?

Also, what do you think about using Bluesky soil with with just a bit Biolive instead? I just can't afford to stock 3-4 different bags, I liked the convinience of just one bag.

I have 18 in a 4x8 bed. This is my first run with organics but something plus good watering techniques will get you good results. I'm using sea soil as my input. It's pine fines and fish compost. Peat/compost/aeration. You could try your old promix with a bit if compost and bio live. Ask @swedsteven he did something close to it with great results

Yeah I'll ask him! But I would still have to cook the Biolive mix, right? I'd really like to but unfortunately I don't have the space nor the temperatures to do so.... Otherwise I'd have done my soil 100%

No super soil is gonna last you start to finish in a five gallon pot. You need a 10 gallon or bigger or to just keep transplanting.

Ah okay! So my options here would be :
  • add organic nutes after a month or 2
  • taking my plant out of the 5ga pot, emptying the pot, put in new soil and replant
Is this right?

No just top feed after a month with some compost and some ammendment that are release right away bio alive or other .
