Indeed, something has to give; our current path is unsustainable.

I don't claim to agree with anything and everything someone says just because they call themselves a lefty or progressive. But there are a lot of highly legitimate concerns about how things are going and why people are suffering and it's well past time to air those grievances.

Charlottesville is an example of just how wrong things could go.
Who wasn't predicting that the shit Trump said and is saying would result in violence. Nobody who voted for Trump even cared. They celebrate it. They still are.

No it isn't. I'm not pretending. Is it offensive or insulting to define the word? Is it offensive or insulting to depict it in art, as in Huckleberry Finn or Django Unchained?
You've didn't grow up tortured by assholes that constantly use that word to try and ridicule and humiliate you. You wouldn't be arguing this if you did.

Take it out of context all you want. I'm arguing in context. You can either choose to acknowledge what is actually being argued and help be part of the solution or you can continue to feed your own ego and remain part of the problem.
You didn't mean that word as commonly used in context of hate. Oh yeah, sure. Just like you didn't say sjw should be kicked to the curb.

What's the difference between men's rights and women's rights?

Yes I would. This argument has nothing to do with race. Samuel L. Jackson argued in defense of Tarantino after people started calling racism on him for depicting accurate racism, albeit exaggerated, in Django Unchained. There were people who even called the director of 12 Years a Slave racist, Steve McQueen, you know, this guy..

..before they knew he was black.. People who called DiCaprio racist for portraying Candy realistically..

I think it's OK to use the word 'nigger' in the right context, like as depicted in art. I don't think it would be Ok to call a black person a nigger out of any other context than that. I obviously think it's OK to explain this without having to resort to saying 'the 'N word', since saying that just makes you say it in your own head. We all know what is meant, I think the person saying it has a responsibility to actually say the word instead of making me say it in my own mind. I think saying it in this context deflates the power those who would otherwise say it in a derogatory fashion have.
How old are you again? I know you're about my age. Have you always believed this or is this a new part of your radicalization to the extreme left?

Real life is not a movie, pada. This is 2017, not a scene in a movie set in the 1800's.

Why don't you explain what you think is wrong with my stance rather than appealing to emotion and acting flabbergasted, clutching your pearls, that someone could ever even think of using such language?

Appalling, I know... but it might help.. Entertain the idea..

This is payback for disagreeing about him with a politician he likes. I like to think have a pretty thick skin, but on this one...
You aren't numb. That shit was said knowing it would hurt.

We don't excuse drunk driving because drunk. The idiot got behind the wheel knowing his condition. We don't excuse drunk comments for the same reason. I do believe he's going to feel much wine sickness tomorrow, so there is some payback to be had.

This isn't a debate. This is you trying to humiliate me for talking shit about your hero.

You're claiming you, a white guy, understands racism better than Jackson and Foxx, 2 black guys and calling me racist for citing their personal accounts of it during their lifetimes...

I never called you racist. If I did, quote it.

All I said was that you are using movies set in the 1800s as your excuse to call someone a nigger. "B-b-but Quentin Tarrantino, Jaimie Fox, Chris Rock!"

This is real life, not a movie, or some stand up act.
