I don't claim to agree with anything and everything someone says just because they call themselves a lefty or progressive. But there are a lot of highly legitimate concerns about how things are going and why people are suffering and it's well past time to air those grievances.

Charlottesville is an example of just how wrong things could go.

Who wasn't predicting that the shit Trump said and is saying would result in violence. Nobody who voted for Trump even cared. They celebrate it. They still are.

Yes I would. This argument has nothing to do with race. Samuel L. Jackson argued in defense of Tarantino after people started calling racism on him for depicting accurate racism, albeit exaggerated, in Django Unchained. There were people who even called the director of 12 Years a Slave racist, Steve McQueen, you know, this guy..

..before they knew he was black.. People who called DiCaprio racist for portraying Candy realistically..

I think it's OK to use the word 'nigger' in the right context, like as depicted in art. I don't think it would be Ok to call a black person a nigger out of any other context than that. I obviously think it's OK to explain this without having to resort to saying 'the 'N word', since saying that just makes you say it in your own head. We all know what is meant, I think the person saying it has a responsibility to actually say the word instead of making me say it in my own mind. I think saying it in this context deflates the power those who would otherwise say it in a derogatory fashion have.
