my ballast has an odd plug like that... what i used was an adapter cable, i forget the name of it, to attach my hood to my ballast.. i'll google the name of the adapter plug i used.. brb.Your bulb screws into your hood or reflector to which there is a lead which will have a male end to fit into the female part of the ballast. I have not seen a female like that but I assume its what you have in your country, so the reflector should have a male connector to match. If not you will have to cut off that female and wire a female to match the reflectors male.
yes, to the op, you'd need at least what is called a mogul socket to attach the bulb to if you're planing to run vertical, about the only way in which i know people who don't use some type of hood.. if you're not running vertical, like a large percent of people, you're going to need some sort of hood that usually already has the mogul socket attached to it..What were you planning on screwing the bulb into?
