I'vre got a Mod420 I built from all Northern Growlights parts. Mod420 frame, 120mm heatsinks, Citizen 1825 COBs, HLG240H-C2100b. I run it at 200-250 watts at the wall. I've run it as high as 325. I have a small box fan that blows across the heatsinks and temps on the sinks were 95-99F when run at 325 watts. I've since removed the lenses, I feel they were a waste in a tent and the light runs much cooler.
Here's the light and here it is lighting one of my Trainwreck, with a little boost from a QB at 60 watts

While prob true was trying to convince myself to jump from my trusty 250w hps. I currently have no issue with the quality or yield of my setup and with an entire case of 250w bulbs sitting unused it just makes my choice a bit harder. The longer I wait the more choices I have and the more affordable the move it seems.
Can hardly blame em though, no matter the price I'm sure they will sell out mighty quick.

I happen to know better than most just how tight their margins are. They're really trying to make it affordable to the end user.
You may be the exception that proves the rule, since you already have a case of replacement lamps.
Even then, Quantum Board tech would still end up saving you money on power consumption over time...

why is 14 gauge too big? that's what I bought and was planning on using. the wire on the dc side of my drivers is 14 gauge and that's what I'm connecting to so... why is 14 gauge too big?

I figured as much. When looking at the parts I thought to myself: even with volume they can’t be making enough profit to sustain a real business.
These guys are great and if I had to do it again, I would be happy to pay an extra $90 for the 2 kits I bought.
These lights rock!
On a side note: my second heatsink was damaged pretty bad in a couple spots. More than usable so I’m good to go but thought I would share the feed back to help with packaging.

BUT NOT FOR LONG ... I finished jarring up some plants from another chop ...
More candy dream , same shit but am popping some seeds I traded that tight ass guy I know ( last time he gave me one fucking seed ) ....
Now since he got a small zip , I got some beans , he had a strain I wanted and I said I need some seeds . So he gave me KomaKush . It is some hybrid shit that gets hella frosty and I wanted some . He finally hooked me up. .
Some are darker so those are the ones I'm going with ... The others " who knows ".
Dumbass doesn't know that I plan to fem out a branch or two so I can make my own.
The QB BATWING tent is ready to be cleaned and sanitized before any of those pots go in so this weekend , I will clean and lay down some preventative pest spraying.

well first of all, someone has already posted about 14 gauge ruining the connectors on the QB, its not designed for wire that thick. Second, its way overkill for that amount of current. You can use it, you may get lucky and not break the connectors, its your choice. The lights were designed to work with 18-22 gauge wire on the DC side

Was actually thinking that when I was adding it all up.
They could be dicks and gouge us since they are the only people who make these boards.
At the same time if they were making money previously, why the increase?

Costs are always rising. Maybe the chips are more expensive, or shipping, or drivers, or insurance, or facility expenses, or health care, or workers comp, or......
When you run a company, costs are rarely stable, and if your margins are razor thin, you can't absorb cost increases easily.

260W kits, price have gone up as they include the cost of shipping. until now i have been packing all kits by myself. There was another $20 added to 260W kit for labor/fulfillment cost to improve availability and lead times in future.
