Any producer of an outrageously overpriced item in the hobby hydroponic shops will be losing thier asses in the next 5 years. Mark my words. No one is going to spend big bucks on crazy priced nutrients when ounces of fire flame Cookies at the greenhouse just outside your town is less than 50 bucks. And its coming. Watch. I got friends in Colorado and California that just quit growing because so much good bud everywhere. And the prices were jaw dropping cheap.
This is simply the best example of an over saturated market......
Our state is going to go limited, lic. high # cultivators. What will this cause?
Due to it being taxed at every level - production - transportation - processing - transportation - point of sale.
Per gram costs of as much as $30 have been estimated. Now, I don't "see" that as happening but, point of sale costs will be HIGH!
So they are going to bolster the "street" market for top shelf and those prices should rise slightly. Quality growers will shine through the pack of novice, low experience growers.
WHY? Because the 500 -1K and 1.5K industrial growers will fall into the "business mentality" of growing. Runs will be harvested by time. Not by being actually finished. They will run limited genetics, that will fit their growing rotation sched. You will see the use of "forbidden" chemicals to treat molds and insects! The big guys of business growing can't afford to loose a crop and this is still not federally legal sooo, no crop insurance is available......
These things have been seen as a problem In Canada
and in commercial operations in the US........
Large scale commercial ops, run for profit only.
Do NOT care about the consumer.
Your local quality grower does! Cutting edge genetics of the day. Tried and true high end genetics of the past. Clean and properly grown and finished products made available to discerning customers, will command higher prices.
Increased state laws and penalties, will increase the risk of the underground grower serving these fussy smokers. Thus prices will reflect the quality and risk.....
Our state has shot it's self in the foot on MM laws ever since the rightwingers took over. They say their getting overage off the street and all they really did was put more on, by removing the legal transfer by caregiver to disp.
