You can grow a plant with its typical " APICAL " shape meaning ( tree ) shape just fine , but with the QB light spread over a broader area ( multiple light sources ) you will find LESS uneven growth from plant. There used to be a time where growers would " turn or spin " their plants to even out leaf exposure.

ALL TECHNIQUES can be used with QB :
HEMPY
LST
MAINLINING
SUPERCROPPING / MONSTER
FIM
TOP
BACK BUILDING
SOG / SCROG
and others.

You will find that branching is more uniform and symmetrical as she grows.
I just pop a seed and let her grow with MINIMAL handling. I noticed I don't really get dominate colas but lots of same size colas. LST can help sometimes and NOW is producing well with quantum, so I really don't need to SCROG. Watch the threads , many growers are doing everything from 1 gallon SOG sacks to VERTICAL TRELLIS GROWS and they are not looking back.

Woah! This rebuild is awesome! Got a new tent, the 2 qb260 kits and a gen hydro pump.

It’s damn near silent in there now! Between not having 2 120mm fans whizzing along he LED and replacing my amazon special commercial pumps it’s very serene now. Love it!

And yes, I did just shamelessly plug the General hydro pump. That thing is wicked! Was able to cut almost all sound, 52w of 24/7 usage and add in additional light while keeping veg wattage (200w QB) the same.

All in all a huge success!
 
Platinum blue dream clone, I like to spread and push her down every night. She was in flower under the Veros but my blueberry og is taking over. So I'm gonna make her a mom for now.

Hold on there. You're making an incorrect assumption; these boards are NOT just one slice of the spectrum; they're a mix of Spectra from blue to red. The color temperature should be thought of as an AVERAGE.

They're producing 'white' light (imperfectly, hence CRI values), so all Spectra in the visible band are represented. There's more of some wavelengths than others and it so happens that these chip's output matches up quite well with what we know about the plant's needs, aka PAR. This is one source of their efficiency and effectiveness at growing plants.

The other source of their efficiency is how well they convert Watts into those Spectra.

Don't get caught up in the idea that they only produce light in the band of the color temperature; if they did that, they'd be bright yellow or orange. This is what first generation LED fixtures did; blue and red diodes to match chlorophyll adsorption profiles. Turns out they didn't work so well, because the plants need at least some of everything in visible light.

The board's light output might be warmer or cooler, but all the colors are in there.
