bernie sanders: regressive

The Democratic Party takes money from the very same donors, so expecting them to do anything different is unrealistic.

For instance, even in the Democratic supermajority state of California, the Democrats have killed single payer health care.

They'd rather see people die than live up to their promises.
But there is a movement of watchdogs trying to improve transparency and hold Democrats accountable. Good ideas will rise, conensus will form, and the Democratic Party is a viable vessel to carry those ideas into public policy. We have a chance to better shape the Democratic Party and set an example of a progressive platform being succesful. Throwing our hands up after Bernie is short-sighted IMO.

I'm not waiting for it to happen, I'm getting involved in my local area.

I see a huge groundswell of progressive support and disgust with both establishment parties. It remains to stitch all these groups together into a unified coalition.

I bet they are a lot less disgusted with Democrats on an objective level. Parties change, Democrats are undergoing a transformation as we post. As long as we keep working to inform and hold Dems accountable, I don't think the name of the party matters too much. Although I do understand the political disadvantage of stigma. To this day you still see idiots on the right argue that Democrats today are the same party they were in the 1850s, early and mid 1900s.

I've been watching the Democrats and I see precious little evidence of transformation.

So the opioid epidemic is killing thousands and filling Foster homes beyond capacity.

What do we hear from our national political class in the way of solutions?

Crickets.
Clinton wants a public health response to the opioid crisis. Trump wants more of the old drug war.
Clinton has detailed specific policies to address America’s current drug epidemic. Trump has made a couple vague promises.

Considering that more Americans are now dying from opioid overdoses than car accidents, I'm thinking that doing more than just paying lip service might give her words more credibility.

But that's just me.

the far left has plenty of time to read articles from questionable sources and literally no time to ever read the goddamn platform.

it's pathetic.
Now, if only they'd ever actually do more than pay lip service to said platform.

They just need credibility.

If they're busy taking in millions from corporate sources and the donor class, they might have a little trouble with that.

Except maybe when it comes to rabid partisan sychophants like yourself.

How many times did Republicans impotently vote to repeal the Affordable Care Act?

Now that Democrats are in power, they kill single payer bills. Witness what happened in California.

I believe in results. You may believe what you like.

So they didn't want to waste political capital voting for the unfunded bill (just to make Bern-outs feel good inside) so they're the enemy?

Haha no, everytime Bernie mentions a "free" government program, you grab someone else's beer and chug it!

Is the neocon/neoliberal drinking game where someone gets to steal a full bottle from the party, take it home and slowly sip on your cup all night?
