Plant burning with light feeding? Advice on nutrients?...

Hi there,

I have had a few grows before and mainly used just the main 3 nutrients for them... bloom, micro and grow...

But recently I decided to buy a full set of remo nutrients to try all 7 nutrient types and get the best results and most crystal out of my plant possible! but ever since I have went into multiple nutrients I have had problems during the flowering stage only. The vegetative stage was nice and healthy all of the way through....

So i follow the calculator on the website:

and I am following advice for 2 Litre containers seen as thats what i use for each feeding of each plant and the readings on the website show that I should add 4 ml of each nutrient. I add everything except the velokelp as its more beneficial for root development and i save it to use for my clones. But other than that i only actually add half of this! more along the lines of 2 ml! a weak solution. and now by week 4 going into week 5. my flowering plants are starting to turn yellow.... and 1 in particular has even started to get burnt leaves! :S

Now... they are in coco coir and can handle a lot of feeding but I must admit I have been abandoning them recently and feeding only every 2-3 days. but even so, after 2 days the coco is still moist on top most of the time so I don't think they should be suffering from starvation that badly to do such damage to the plant? They haven't been left alone that long. I know I should be doing numerous feedings and I have before and got better results because of it. but i don't know if i am hurting them when I am feeding them or not. the symptoms seem worst than just starving plants....

So anyway. here is some more information. these are the values of each and every ingredient inside of the 7 nutrient solutions. If anyone could tell me where I am going wrong I would appreciate it. are the nutrient instructions on the website wrong? how should I be feeding them? I know I could remedy this by going back to the usual 3 standard nutrients but I bought the 7 in hopes to get much better results and instead I am getting worst because the plants are suffering.... What would you recommend that I do?....

Phosphate: 3%

How should I feed them going forward and how often? Any help would be appreciated..... Thank you

More bottled shit equals more problems that are harder to identify. Go back to what worked better for you.

That looks like classic P deficiency so either there isn't enough or something is locking it out. Possibly it's got something to do with the coco. I use peat based stuff so not up on coco lore.

I'd give them a nice dose of your AstroFlower with your next watering and watch to see if that doesn't stop the progression of the symptoms. Take a pic every day from the same angle so you can better tell if it's getting worse or stopped.

I am not sure if there is anything wrong with the coco because like i said I have grew before in coco coir and had green growth all the way through and also during vegetative they were very healthy

would you say the feeding amounts are right then? maybe I just didn't feed them enough? I abandoned them for 3 days at one point but I didn't think it would do that much damage. I am sure its not just due to starvation but rather the way i am feeding them. anyway I will change my tactics up and feed daily and see if the problems persist....

I almost always feed/water/feed tho sometimes feed more if the plants look like they need it.

You just changed to different nutes so there may be issues there but I know nothing about those nutes. More bottles doesn't mean better grows either and tends to complicate things.

Did you try just adding a bit more of the AstroFlower for the extra P? Seems to be the problem so that might be all it needs to fix it.

The way your describing the coco It sounds like they are not drinking enough if they are staying moist so long. So maybe the problems at the roots. Which would explain the P not been taken up.
Or it Could be PH issue, I would shoot for 6 in coco with these symptoms.
Could be that now your using all these fancy bottles your boosting the metabolism but your feeding lower nutes and they are wanting more P.
I find it odd that you left them for as long as you did and the coco was still moist on top though.

I would add the kelp product because it will help you roots if there is an issue, it will help with the stress too.
I would up the nutrients by 50%, you don't have signs of nutrient burn and they look pale green anyhow, the crispy brown is as O.M.U said, lack of P not too much XYZ

Well usually when I feed them I make sure water runs down into the bottom of the trays so they are moist all throughout. they stay moist usually for 2 days and maybe the water in the tray keeps them like that until it dries up. by day 3 I start seeing the top of the coco becoming dry. it seems pretty normal but I know they can drink more because I have fed them twice a day before in smaller intervals and they seem to love it.

Anyways I will probably up the dose then and see what happens. I just gave them another feed last night with a little extra astroflower so I will see what the response is like. they look a little worst for wear than in the photo now though as it has been a further 5 days since but I hope they recover ok. a couple of the kush plants only have a few weeks anyway but still I know if my plants are suffering then I am getting held back on the potential.

I will update how things are in a few more days....

Well usually when I feed them I make sure water runs down into the bottom of the trays so they are moist all throughout. they stay moist usually for 2 days and maybe the water in the tray keeps them like that until it dries up. by day 3

I don't think you're supposed to leave the plants standing in their runoff. I know you're not supposed to with peat or soil based mixes as it promotes root rot. They even make stands to hold the fabric bags up so water can run off and not stay in contact with the grow bag. I let my plants stand in the runoff for a half hour or so to make sure that the pot is well saturated but remove any remaining after that time.

When I'm starting regular plants and then up-potting I judge the time to do that by how long I go between waterings. 3 days is about perfect from all I've learned about it so when a plant starts needing water every 2 days or less then it's time for a bigger pot. My largest plants now in 4gal pots go 4 days between waterings so I'm pretty sure they are in the right pots for their size.

I know with coco it's supposed to stay wet all the time which sounds like a PITA to me and another reason not to use coco.

Just wanted to follow along...to see how things unfold.

I had a friend who used coco. He watered to 10% overflow each time (every couple days) I agree that you don't want to let pots sit in nutrients. It's not a Hempy bucket.

Look at my babies... I’m still trying to figure out what’s going on with them. I always feed them with REMO NUTRIENTS, the same as our colleague who started this thread, also with p.h. 6 water. They where healthy right before I switched to 12/12. Here’s my setup:

- 9 plants in a 4ft x 6.5ft grow tent: 19 days since I was switched to flowering. Being 7 Montana chem dog’s on auto pot system and 1 on a regular pot getting fed from top (which is the only plant that’s completely healthy and with the biggest buds).

- I have a 1000w hps with an electronic reactor set on super lumen option. 1 LED Bloombee 720w 5w chip, 1 1500w generic LED light. They’re about 25 inches above the plants.

- Temp is about 26 degrees during daytime and 21 nighttime.

- R. Humidity is about 40-55%.

I’m gonna flush them today with p.h. 6 water with an increased dose of astroflower, about 50% more, and see what happens. I wish people would come back and comment on this thread until we solve this problem. That way we wouldn’t have 1000 threads talking about the same issue.

It's hard to tell much from a random leaf here and there.

It looks like a little nute burn but if it's just on a few older fan leaves here and there then it's not much to worry about. At almost 3 weeks flowering some of the older leaves are going to show some changes but if it's all the older leaves then it could be a problem.

Some of it looks like water damage. Do you spray your plants often? I don't spray at all unless it's for the bugs.

If it is nute burn throwing even more nutes in will only make it worse.
