Hello.I recently read a lenghty thread on another forum about removing the diffusers from home LED bulbs and how that really increased the brightness of the bulb because its not being diffused and its more concentrated. So I tried that , I have a 23w cfl bulb and a 10w LED bulb without the diffusred , the led bulb is rated at 800lumens and the cfl around 1650.First thing I noticed , the led bulb without the diffuser is like twice as bright as the cfl bulb.I have my plants both 3-4 cm below the bulbs , one plant is directly under the led and on is under the cfl with just slight light from the led hitting it.I will try to keep them this way and see which bulb performs better. The plants are both the same age (broke the soil at the same time) , 11 days , they are both bagseed from the same bag.For some reason the plant under the led has shorter and wider leaves and the one under the cfl has longer thinner leaves.I don't know if the bulbs have anything to do with that though. Both bulbs are 2700k.
I will keep this thread updated once or twice a week if someone finds it interesting.
