added uvb-10 to 6 cob mix(2800k-6400k)

4 weeks old had 4 chopped two were males,random bag seeds o_O,

light: meanwell 320 1400, cree cbx3590's, 1x6400(70cri), 2x3500(80cri), 1x 3000k(90cri), 2x 2800(90cri), 2x26w uvb 10 clfs

ffof soil & coarse perlite, neptunes harvest & seaweed w/ cal-mag, ph'd @ 5.8-6.4, smart pots,

4 weeks to early to start flowering on these? i took some clones that im gonna veg for 4-5 weeks..

how they looking? constructive criticism welcome!

Nice setup.
What size is your tent?
For a quick turn around I'd flower them now.
2 - 3 weeks for clones to bite in and get going, veg n shape them till first batch is finished
And repeat.

Can anyone help me understand the importance of uvb?
I red something about using both uva and uvb but can't remember it.

transplanted one of them into 3gal sp, and flushed with 6.2 ph airated water, will do the other in couple days. been leaving the reptiglos on same scedule as lights since there low uvb, still immature no trichs yet..

also bought a ppm meter and pushed the feeding last week up to 1150 ppm using neptunes harvest, roots organic uprising bloom and 3x dose of cal-magic

UVA does nothing for plants.

UVB (when used correctly) increases trichrome production. UVB hurts plants, it's not good for them. So when they get hit with high amounts of UV, their response is to produce more resin in order to protect themselves from the light.

Human skin does the same thing. If you go outside in the summer and get some sun, what happens? Your skin tans. Too much obviously and you burn.

Just like plants, when human skin is exposed to UV, it will naturally produce more "oils" to protect the skin.

Let me see... humans don't produce oils to protect themselves from UV of any sort!

What we as humans do in reaction is get sunburn and that can lead to cancer cells so not such a good analogy to be giving.

How humans have adapted is to alter the melanin levels genetically in response to the environment thus creating lighter and darker coloured skin.

Frankly the jury is still out on UV and it's role in cannabis growing and it's looking increasingly like very tiny doses would be required if in deed it plays any important role. What does play a big role is the IR spectrum but that's a whole different part of the growing story.

I will however keep reading and watching other pioneers observing the effects on our beloved plants and I'm open to change if it proves to be worthwhile.

filling in nice, 3 gal sp working out nice havnt had to water in 7 days and still is perfectly moist, currently studying for a drug test for work its been a week without smoke im dying over here all the bud around here is whack no wax im living in a hell hole, plz bud gawds bless my buds since there random bag seed...

hmmm well thats interesting...considering most studies about uv_b, produce results leading to terpene degradation because of cell protection. ithasnever been shown in cannabis to increase cannabinoids....not saying it wont....just that it hasnt so far

I feel compelled to add, UV causes skin cancer and other cancers, and should not be played with or allow yourself to be exposed to UV radiation for extended periods of time. Before you slam me look up MOHS laboratories. I used to design and build them among other labs for a living.. MOHS developed a system to identify skin cancer and track and treat skin cancer including removal of cancerous tumors. I would leave UV to the professionals.

Interesting subject MOHS
I have had 4 small moles removed , basal cells. Non melanoma.
Don't mess with the UV.

Well first hot 90*+ day and my plants got cooked to death, gonna invest in a light meter cause this guessing game is not gonna work for me i had the lights above 24" with a fan circulating. This is devastating smh
