Ok, all BS aside, that's freakin cool. That is the right antidote. More local, grassroots discussions out in the public sphere. They may not fall for whatever the MSM is hawking, but there's a good chance they'll listen when it's close to home. Fuckin A.
Too much apathy these days. Everybody is in their own little self centered, all about me world.
I haven't seen genuine interest and activism since the Nam era.
And since the gov't. stopped the media from showing flag drapped coffins coming off planes, people don't care as much.
l lost friends in Nam. Everybody knew somebody that was there. It was personal back then.
Now, it's different. War is still hideous, but they try to hide it from the public. They don't want protests in the streets, they want people to go along with it for 'national security'.
And our biggest threat isn't a specific country, it's criminal bandits. Terrorists fighting for bizzare religious beliefs.
And it didn't help that we propped up people like the Shah for 40 years to keep gas at 32.9 a gallon.
You steal from people, they get wise. They look at this country and think, 'they have streets paved in gold and we have nothing.' Right or wrong, there's going to be blow back.
Welcome to the 21st century.
