You'd have to ask the minority people in the US who live in in red states why. Most voters checked the box for Hillary. The race was lost in PA, MI, Fla, WI and a few other states by small margins.

Question to you regarding "conservative". What's conservative about increased air and water pollution? Or cutting taxes while increasing spending and the deficit, ballooning the debt? Or knowingly faking news (WMD) to justify invading Iraq? Also, would you call Trump conservative?

There is a pretty good field of candidates shaping up on the Democratic side. For myself, I like Ron Wyden but he's pretty much a nobody to people outside of Oregon. People with good name recognition in the D party are Sanders and Warren. We have plenty of time to kick this around.

What about conservative candidates. Anybody you like at the moment?
