How does one reason with an entire political class that's decided to unmoor itself from science and verifiable knowledge and cast themselves adrift on the vast dark sea of ignorance and superstition? There's no shortage of people who are comfortable with such a state of affairs.

Do you get the sense that some are starting to get fed up with a diet too rich in right wing bullshit? Trump's administration serves up heaping portions every day.

Or is it just wishful thinking on my part that some people who voted for the orange one are feeling buyer's remorse?

Is that site for real or were those just made up tweets? If I were on the other side, I'd say it matches my perception of reality so it must be so. But I'm not.

In any case, Elko was pretty funny.
all real. i like to search down regretful trumptards and forward their tweets to the guy who compiles them.

good times.

I'm not in an area where there are a lot of rabid right wingers. My city is pretty progressive, so I don't get to see or hear much from Chump supporters. I'm pretty sure they're feeling at least a bit embattled right about now.

I'm still extremely disappointed we didn't get to vote for Bernie. THAT would have been a landslide and he'd be making a lot more sense in terms of policy.

Except that nothing he would have done would have persuaded the right wingers. Maybe we need to actually let the car crash happen. Obama saved us from depression and all it did was save the right wing from its own comeuppance.

The problems begin with the high cost to get elected. Those with deep pockets and agendas write big checks expecting something in return. Now, let's say they underwrote politicos in all the major countries, and let's say it cost them 100M to lay the ground work. That would be a drop in the bucket compared to the amount of money they would rake in from a world-wide carbon tax

and we the people by and large believe the BS they peddle on tv- they don't call it programming for nothin folks

it was 81 in denver a couple of days ago.
Wow, it got to 77 up here.
I've had the windows open all day.

Refreshing and crisp!
You all blow goats it's been -10 here, that's 14 Fahrenheit.

Also climate change brought on by humankind is real and anyone who believes otherwise it's either lying for profit or just too stupid to understand science. Or more likely they love conspiracy theories so much that this bandwagon of fake climate studies for the purpose of...what is it? "Slowing down the competitiveness of the United States?" Anyway they're sad people that feel helpless and think that these conspiracy theories make them special. Sad.

I always preferred SI measurements, why remain so steadfastly regressive regarding measurements is something I've always wondered.

(I think technically I'm wrong and heat is actually measured in K, but you get the point)

I still 'think' the juries out (though the doubts are piling up) but if true WE ALL GOT TRUMPED
Strange that somebody who is so skeptical about all news media would get taken in by Trump's lies. A vote for Trump is a vote for more fossil fuel use too. Was it just that you couldn't stomach voting for Clinton?

Trump is entirely corrupt. There is no chance of that being untrue. Also too, a government can't make good policy based on lies. So, in terms of corruption and ineptitude, we are in for a rough go. I'm going to have to deal with his shit but feel no ownership for him or his actions. If you voted for Trump you got shagged. No lube, no condoms and he didn't pull out.

I'm really worried about a tilt into full on fascism. We already have 90% of it in place, the rest would basically just take an announcement that we are going to war. Again. So everyone loses their rights during a conflict. Since the conflict with enemies like ISIS only end when the White House says it does, it would be a very convenient way to rule and steal without anyone being able to put a stop to it.

^^ has been on my worry list ever since Trump kind of sort of won the election.

Creating a crisis to justify suspension of laws is an old trick but still effective. With courts suspending implementation of the Muslim ban that is claimed to be needed "for national security", all Trump needs now is to let an attack get through and he will have all the justification needed. His cover is upheaval at the top of the NSA and those "so called judges". It worked for Bush jr. His administration started the 9-11 disaster in motion when they downgraded access of then-NSA, Richard Clarke, to the president. Bush/Cheny/Rumsfeld pretty much had it all their way for years after that.

Yes, and they stole all they could get their hands on.

We the People must put a stop to this.

What if we held a general strike? Take March off? Refuse to pay the banksters their monthly, refuse to work to pad the profits of the megacorps at the expense of our own lives?

They would watch their profits vanish the first week and they'd be screaming for mercy at week 2. They're very vulnerable, this kind of thing has never happened here. They can't FORCE people to work. We aren't slaves without free will. YET.
