Finally done with my grow.
If anyone was curious about my yield, it was 1.37gpw .A bit less than I hoped for, but hopefully it'll be a lot better with reflective walls this time round. And instead of vegging with 1000w I might try worth 3000w too.

I'm curious about whether or not misting is ok around these things without having lenses?
I have been misting some shitty clones back to health with rhyzo the last 10 days under my citi clu058 set up, Obviously I have not misted directly onto the COB and take care to mist in a direction to avoid the COB, using my hand to shield them but I don't have lenses. My lights are a good 18inch above too.

Heres what citi say

7-10. This product is not designed for usage under the following conditions.

If the product might be used under the following conditions, you shall evaluate its effect and appropriate them. In places

where the product might:

-directly and indirectly get wet due to rain and/or at place with the fear.

-be damage by seawater and/or at place with the fear

-be exposed to corrosive gas (such as Cl2, H2S, NH3, SOx, NOx and so on) and/or at place with the fear.

-be exposed to dust, fluid or oil and/or at place with the fear

Getting it wet through rain is a fair bit different from a tiny bit of mist hitting it when its on. I suppose technically any form of water mixed with electricity is not a good idea.

Not sure if this is where to post but here we go. First if all many thanks to the OP for starting this thread so long ago I'm still reading through and digesting all this info. Huge props to everyone here.
So if you take a look at this grow, https://www.rollitup.org/t/first-legitimate-grow-ams-nyc-turbo-diesel-ak47-led-flouro.896464/#post-12345647.
I used two apollo 400 series "blurple" leds with 4 2ft flouros to produce 5 1/2 Oz in a 2x3 cab. Since then I've pulled between 4 and 8 Oz in various grows using ams nyc
And serious ak47.
Now the cab is tired and rickety so I'm going to build a 3x4 and looking at new lights.
The apollo's were a risky investment that payed off very well and have served me well. 20160401_170813.jpg 20160422_213158.jpg
So the next big risk is this.
https://www.amazon.com/Anjeet-Spectrum-System-Indoor-Replace/dp/B01DDC052E
41C4VnYH0sL._SY400_.jpg
So before we start bashing I bought it for spare parts and the shell. The plan is to test it on a single plant, like the first grow and then put stronger drivers and cree cobs in it while then building a couple of rails with the stock cheap cobs for supplemental lighting in the new cab.
I want to also take those apollo's apart and try and pull a gromouse mars 2 type conversion.
As soon as the current harvest is done I'll pull those apart and get some driver and volt numbers.
I got the apollo's and the anjeet all really cheap but I'm a total newb with installing and wiring up cobs.
Any suggestions for hardware.
No hurry on this project though, I want to see what this cheapo anjeet can do.

Also from what I'm reading, wattage isnt usefull at all for determining led capability.
Are we all finally agreed that par value, in spectrum is how we're rating these or am I off base.
Thanks again guys this is turning out to be, a passion instead of a hobby.

It might be near time to give it some nutes I haven't fed yet ,the ph of run off is high 5s so I upped the water ph a tad ,all the other plants multiple strains ,more indica ,have no signs of stress ,but they are all in air pots

Not so at my house! I run mostly 3500k to 4000k cob grow lights and some high quality leds(a51) white or red/white and my flowering times are about 1to maybe 4 days faster than hps or old cmh or my old blurple LEDs. This has held true for well over a year across strains.

More bud, better bud than hps, and just a tick quicker and I never noticed this with blurple leds with which I am well experienced.
I have the cheap Chinese led if that's star you mean by blurple. They work i get quality my buds are dense, and the quality is there but, I think until i have the $1,000 + to spend I won't get the production likeI need good cob leds about 600 to 1,000 watts for my 40sq room 5 to 6 plants i can fit.

Awesome I'll have to wait until I get back to working more to spend that much, wife is going on for another spinal surgery next month 3 kids and one being 2 I have to be home a lot.
Yea, I wasn't planning getting in that deep lol I'm just hoping that it lasts a long time and produces good results. Healing vibes coming your wife's way. Check out citizen COBs, cut back to 200-250 watts and cut the count back to 4 and you can cut the cost considerably. @CobKits might be able to help you save. What size area are you covering?

We Never Plan On It But It Always Happens. The Next Thing You Know You Have Run Out Of Space And Now Your Taking Over Half Of Your Wife's Laundry Room For Cloning Purposes Just Saying Be Careful Very Careful Or It Will Consume You Just Saying bongsmilie
It's terrible. I'm already planning more fixtures and have no idea where they are going to go. I'm going to be surrounded by grow tents
