Thanks buddy. Yes, the runoff was yellow but didn't smell bad. I got about a half gallon of runoff, it won't need to be watered for a couple days now but I don't want it sitting in that soil without runoff being clear. Can I get runoff tonight, do it slowly but get a lot? I could fluff it up and run a fan on it afterwards
QUOTE="greasemonkeymann, post: 13339311, member: 227989"]here's my concern, the soil undoubtedly has enough nutrients in it, that size of plant isn't going to deficient of anything on it's own, the issue (so it would seem) is that the soil potentially is too anaerobic OR isn't allowed to drain off after sufficient watering.
water thoroughly, with the bottom of the container NOT sitting in water, water slowly, small amounts, with about ten minute breaks between watering, water like a pint glass of water at a time (applied slowly, not all at once), and water (giving ten min breaks between) until you see runoff.
observe the runoff, if it's brown or coffee colored, then you want to water until it clears up
ten minutes between
after that is done, use something to "fluff" up the surface of the soil to allow it to dry out without caking.
a fan lightly blowing on the container isn't a bad idea either[/QUOTE]
