The hearing protection act

Hey idiots, nobody is trying to take your toys. I just think a two hundred dollar tax and a waiting period is a logical policy.

For silencers?

You can hunt without hearing protection, helps with noise complaints if neighbors are close, and increases accuracy by reducing flinch in many shooters.

It's safer, period. The whole movie sniper gonna kill your kids without a sound and vanish in the night is bullshit liberal hype.

an AR15 costs $34,000 in australia.
And culturally, Australia is much different from the US. Chicago's a very difficult place to buy guns, yet they have a staggering amount of gun crime. In Switzerland, pretty much everyone owns a gun and they've got almost nonexistent gun crime. The problem isn't guns, it's a culture and poverty issue.

What's the 200 bucks for?

And if a midnight ninja sniper wants to use a silencer while killing someone, what does making them wait a few weeks do? And how many silencers have been used for such things?

Liberal bullshit hype.

Right wing idiot propaganda.
Did you remember to pay your NRA fees this year, simpleton?

Suppressors are regulated under the National Firearms Act (NFA) of 1934, which falls under the purview of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). To legally purchase or possess a suppressor you must:

  • Be at least 21 years of age to purchase a suppressor from a dealer.
  • Be at least 18 years of age to purchase a suppressor from an individual on a Form 4 to Form 4 transfer (contingent on state laws).
  • Be at least 18 years of age to possess a suppressor as a beneficiary of a trust or as a member of a corporation (contingent on state laws).
  • Be a resident of the United States.
  • Be legally eligible to purchase a firearm.
  • Pass a BATFE background check with a typical process time of 4 to 9 months.
  • Pay a one time $200 Transfer Tax.
  • Reside in one of the 41 states that currently allows civilian ownership of suppressors.

So what? You can make one with a MagLite or an oil filter. Its actually nice to go hunting without wearing ear protection sometimes but not worth it imho because suppressors make your gun dirty as fuck. Look at that vid Milliardo posted. Check out the blowback.

This is not the movies kids. My pellet rifle breaks the sound barrier with a loud crack and it has a silencer on it.........it's not silent and it does not affect you in any way.
