DIY with Quantum Boards

We were not thinking of T5 with a narrower and Longer board.

Plenty of T5 replacement already out there. Samsung, bridgelux, lumiled sell LED strips that are 40-45 inches long. @PicklesRus

Samsung has H series strips. HB22D has 96 pcs same diode as QB. Digikey has them for $27.58 each, $24 for 10+. 192 lm/w. Sounds like the T5 replacement just as we would have designed it. Not worth Designing something similar to save just a few $

This board design change will it be for all spectrums or just 1version?
3k, 4k, etc
Board Design not changing . It will be a new product.

We even thought of designing a longer strips with whites, red, blue and adjustable spectrum to help dial in whatever spectrum grower needs and to support research. Then we thought it is better to keep board simple, reduce cost and use that savings for higher efficiency.

Sort of like the Cree Lumia? But.. Bigger?

@robincnn

my plants have really bounced back. They really are liking the new light. Its only been running for about 4 days, but there growth is noticeable. One of them told me if i can keep this up, they might stop calling me "the bringer of death" I think we may have gotten this dialed in. thanks!

FWIW, I do like the idea of a 'complete spectrum' light, especially with this board design with many chips. 2700k 90cri, 3500k 80cri, 5000k 80cri, and 660nm monos? All setup to overlap and spread with one another accross the canopy. This 'board' design makes it much more viable than a COB setup, where you won't nec have all these spectrums overlapping throughout the canopy as evenly.

@robincnn. Do you know where I can get some m3 screws just a little bit longer than those that come with the heat sink?

I will be mounting the board to a aluminum plate and also to the heat sink.
I need same screw just 1/8 inch longer.

I Googled m3 screws and get all kinds of different options.

My homie who I made hip to these cool QB boards will be ordering some very soon. I will be ordering some in about 1 month. Anyone know when the vegging spectrum set up is coming? Thanks.

Also come on gang - post some new flowering pics under QB's. :cuss:

Not the best pictures but you can see how green the plants are down to the bottom. Also bud sites down to the bottom as well. Over all healthy, I am getting a very light yellow on the tips at the tops but not at the mids or bottom. FFOF water PH 6.5, light mag cal twice. These are autos so I didn't want to push any nutes too hard.

The only thing I'm not certain on is light height from the top of the canopy. I'm about 12-14 inches but wonder if I should lift it to 18 or so ?

Damn - in picture one down near the pretty cool looking white cloth pot in the shade you can see buds?? Am I seeing things? Looks like very good light penetration.

Here's a few more shots, I thought the light was 14+ inches and it was more like 11 :o I knew they would stretch when flowering but not this fast lol. Light is now 18in at 125W
