Dude, prefer, not disdain.

I prefer old school, but nothing beats 1 slim 1/2 U rack mount and a 4 switch + rocker pedal + MIDI giving you anything you want out gigging.

Still haven't found an I/O equal to a Crybaby Wah + Electric Mistress Flanger + Twin Reverb amp (all 70's or older) and this is the price of constant "love".
