I say good. If Israel wants to claim its serious about peace, they need to knock this shit off.

What's funny is how Republicans AND Democrats are pissing and moaning over this. Everyone is so afraid to call Israel out on their bullshit. Guys like Chuck Schumer need to be purged from the party.
I actually agree with this. Nothing against my Jewish friends, but let us be honest here.

I have several Israeli friends, and unsurprisingly they are very conservative, and equally unsurprisingly hold an unfounded distain for President Obama. And unsurprisingly they are blinded by their hate and bubble logic no to see what's right in front of their face. Oh well.

Holy fuck. I would never have thought that the US would have the balls not to unequivocally support Israel in any UN Security Council resolution admonishing the Israelis for their actions in Palestine.
By creating settlements and moving 10's of thousands of "settlers" into disputed areas, the Jews have totally screwed any chance for a homeland for the Palestinian people, and for a chance of peace in that fucked up area.
Since 1967 those assholes (Israel) has been non-compliant with the Geneva Convention, all,UN resolutions and even stated US policy They have ignored everyone, and have done what they have wanted to do, no matter what.the consequences.
In essence, fuck the world
You know what is another really cool thing about this resolution passing? Trump cant do a fucking thing about it, after saying he wanted a veto to help his soul mate, Netanyahu (another prick)
It's a done deal, and he ain't going to save their sorry asses from the sanctions that are coming down the road (South Africa anyone?)
Israel is screwed big time, and it's about time
Nice

i'd think with multiple genocides going on around the world, the UN would have more important shit to focus on.
Well, it could be said that Israel is committing acts of genocide, couldn't it?
And that should not let Israel off the hook anyway. Just because someone is more fucked up than me , shouldn't be an excuse for their barbarity.

No excuse.

No one has a problem with Jewish people.

We all of us should have a problem with racist, sectarian, apartheid Israel and by extension anyone who would defend their abuses, whether they be Jewish or not.

The JADL should be ashamed of its role in apologising for habitual, widespread and ongoing Israeli human rights violations.

sure, if by genocide you mean the exact opposite of genocide.

And that should not let Israel off the hook anyway. Just because someone is more fucked up than me , shouldn't be an excuse for their barbarity.
that's true. it's important to ignore genocide so that you can pick on some jews.

Israel will not adhere to U.N. settlements resolution - Netanyahu office

http://www.timesofisrael.com/after-vote-defeat-netanyahu-lashes-out-at-obama-and-un/
It was by not adhering to the previous resolutions that got Israel into the situation it finds itself in now. Israel wants its cake and wants to eat it as well, how on earth can they convince any right thinking person that after 50 years of land thefts, expulsions and illegal buildings that the Palestinians would ever believe in their crocodile tears of peace.
This situation suited Israel perfectly well, people like Trumps son-in-law Kushner his Ambassador designate, Friedman have actually donated funds towards illegal settlements. No Palestinian would regard those two as 'neutral' arbiters.
Nor can Israel play the Holocaust card. No country in the area can threaten them, they've just pocketed the largest arms deal in history, but are still acting as the injured party here.

I think eventually a two state compromise will emerge. Until then it'll remain a hardball (game). That said I disagree with the US abstaining at the vote. Don't abandon or betray your allies. I think Obama's not been a true friend to Israel and I think Trump will be. Politics makes strange bedfellows.

Obama did just fine to Israel.

He's my President too and frankly I'm glad Mr Obama has sent this message to the head racist asshole in charge of an apartheid state, Netanyahu.

I agree with your assessment of the Chump's intentions, and I'm appalled, ashamed and disgusted at the prospect of climbing back into bed with monsters.

Why should he be a 'true friend' of Israel?.
Netanyahu humiliated Biden on a visit to Israel by announcing a settlement expansion, campaigned against him on Romney's behalf in '12 and denounced him on the floor of Congress over his deal with Iran, yet you think Obama should treat him like a long lost bro & Israel as a 'special case'.?
