Sure if the luminare is sealed. In this case closer inspection will show these lens are not even close to sealed.

We are working with Ledil on a custom clip to hold all the optics in place....

COBs and now Quantum Boards. Bye, bye HID. Now there are two led configurations that are great for us. Two points of emerging lighting technologies. Each will make huge gains faster and faster. What a time for a Phototron. We'll be seeing light coming from everywhere. Grow areas will be quieter and prices reletive to performance will continue to fall.

I firmly believe they'll usher in a new era of ever more affordable and accessible vegetables of nearly all sorts, grown indoors and away from an increasingly polluted world. The old shop and storage rooms are the new greenhouses of the 21st century!

Mark is correct. I used the remover for my fingers lol. Even though my method works fine (gluing the legs which is not really close to the optical section of the lens with super glue isn't ideal. I suggest this instead or similar. The optics are PMMA.

I have seen COBS with VOC issues actually self heal, the trick is to burn in, ie run the leds, no optic, for a few hours to burn off any possible VOC and then seal your optic over the leds

Totally think that is the new norm ... Customizable kelvin boards and grow tents with vertical strips ... Like those 44" bridgelux strips.

These optics just float above the chips on their legs, they don't seal at all.
seal is a relative concept, can be just a simple no air seal, or good for a dozen atmospheres, the problem is certainly worse proportional to type of seal. There are many alternates to cynos that are no issue

I could see using HID for a small grow in the garage in the winter as it doubles as a space heater.

These are wide open, like a table with legs.

I'm not attempting to discount your point about such chemicals being bad for the chips, just telling you how they fit in the case of the quantum boards.
