How Israel takes care of its friends, the Palestinians

rob i agree that use, misuse and manipulation of language is important in creating, stopping and manipulating thoughts.

however in this case it seemed to me at least that his use of "we" as in we have blood on our hands, means America. not the individuals who are against our (note the use of the word "our") middle east policies.

since it's his homeland, he can't say "they" and mean America. when you refer to the American government you're referring to "your" government, not someone else', right?

further i also think he is trying to say we as Americans have to take responsibility for what our government is doing, because we as Americans are letting it happen and we can also change it. by not doing so it is on us.

"there comes a time when silence is betrayal"-MLK

you can disavow all you want, but it's your tax dollars that is paying for it and it's your voice that is either being heard or ignored, and so it is on you and me and him to do something about the shit we don't like. if we don't then we have blood on our hands.

and that's true for all the fucked up shit that is going on in this country.

this government belongs to us, not the politicians we elect. we have the power, if we don't use it then how can "they" be to blame? if "we" don't change things, then who is supposed to?

what are we saying, that "they", someone else, is supposed to while we sit on our butts in our disavowed righteousness? if that's so, then the country is not ours, it's theirs. you can't be American and just pick and choose what you are responsible for and what you're not. this is your country dude, not someone else'.

I can't stand Trump, but "we" elected him. for anyone who calls America home, there is no "they", there is only "we".
Thank you for acknowledging that words have meaning.

Would you say that the meaning of words should remain consistent regardless of who is doing a particular act?

In other words, if I take your stuff, without your permission it's theft right? If another person takes your stuff without your permission it's STILL stealing right?

Former U.S. president Jimmy Carter, who brokered peace between Egypt and Israel at Camp David, has called on Barack Obama to recognize the State of Palestine (as the United Nations refers to the non-member observer state) before he leaves office in January.

Of the U.N.’s 193 members, 136—more than 70 percent—recognize the State of Palestine and the Palestinian push for an independent state. But the U.S., Israel and dozens of other nations do not, with many arguing that the recognition of a Palestinian entity can only come about through direct talks and agreement between the Israelis and the Palestinians.

The current U.S. government supports a two-state solution but Israeli ministers have suggested that the election of Donald Trump as the next president has dealt a huge blow to hopes of a Palestinian state. On the campaign trail, Trump pledged to move the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem and called for continued Israeli settlement building in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

With Trump, whom the Israelis supported in his election bid, the two state solution will be gone forever and what that means to the US citizen will be just one more reason to be targeted by Muslim radicals, who already call us the Great Satan, and in my opinion, for good reason, seeing as we just elected for POTUS his disciple

.
Carter has now stepped into the debate with an op-ed for the New York Times on Monday.

“It has been President Obama’s aim to support a negotiated end to the conflict based on two states, living side by side in peace. That prospect is now in grave doubt,” he wrote. “I am convinced that the United States can still shape the future of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict before a change in presidents, but time is very short.

“The simple but vital step this administration must take before its term expires on Jan. 20 is to grant American diplomatic recognition to the state of Palestine, as 137 countries have already done, and help it achieve full United Nations membership.”

Carter added that U.S. recognition of Palestinian hopes for a sovereign state, combined with a U.N. Security Council resolution “grounded in international law,” and U.N. membership for the Palestinians would assist future diplomatic efforts to seal a lasting peace agreement.

There will be no peace in Israel, or the ME for that matter, until the Palestinians get a true homeland, that much is evident. It's a crime that the US allows Israel to flout the Geneva Convention and international law, all the time bankrolling those vampires with 10's of billions of dollars that the US taxpayers have been giving them year in and year out to support their crimes against the Palestinians.

when trump does business with qatar, does he just pocket the money himself, or does he spend it so that he may dispense life saving AIDS medication to 11 million people worldwide?
No, Bucky..he charges his foundation the cost of what he wishes and runs it through there..then takes it home with.

Like that full-length portrait of himself..even Hilldawgs doesn't have a full length portrait or escalator in her home.

Simpsons nailed it!..sad, they didn't predict Melania..

A glimpse into how Israel treats anyone who wants to see the truth of the Palestinian 'conflict'. Let's just call it what it is.

Barbaric.

Despicable.

And most damming; crimes against humanity, which must force the United States on human rights grounds to withdraw its financial and military support until reparations are made.

Failure to do so is nothing short of aiding and abetting these war crimes against the Palestinian people ourselves.

After all, they're using American supplied Apache Gunships and F-16 Falcons.

I have no quarrel with anyone of the Jewish faith, but I have a serious problem with the activities Israel is carrying out while hiding behind Judaism. I'm well aware I'm in good company with many, perhaps even most Jews who feel the same.

It's time to take a stand. America is Israel's biggest benefactor, by which we share the blood of Palestinians on our hands. Our support must stop.
They should be happy knowing that Israel could wipe them out in 5 minutes - but doesn't. Somebody should tell the Nobel peeple.

And when they went to the peace table they were rebuffed. Israel has repeatedly demonstrated that it doesn't WANT peace, because the ongoing conflict is great cover for continuing their campaign of human rights violations.
Israel signed a peace contract before. The Oslo Accord. Didn't last.

like always, you have it completely backwards, trailer boy.

the clinton foundation received donations from some of these countries. the clinton foundation spent it on life saving AIDS medications, empowering women worldwide, and everything else their foundation does. the countries got nothing back in return.

trump does business in these countries. the countries make money from him, and he profits from doing business in these countries which @Flaming Pie says fund ISIS, al qaeda, and other "islamic terrorist groups".

i would not expect a penny mooching cuck like yourself to understand the difference, and you did not disappoint. boy.
Oh, so you theorize that bellhops, maids and hotel managers are pocketing their wages to fund ISIS. I expect more from you.

How many chances for peace should the Israelis provide if the Palestinians can't stop bombing, shooting, and setting israel on fire?
As many as it takes. You know, there are certain things that the Israelis could do to help the process.

Sorry, not going to be interactive on this point or any other. I am meeting George Soros at Bohemian Grove for a 3 day media-fast. No phone. No lights. No motor cars.
