For example, why wouldn't directional lighting work just fine to light a trellis panel vertically vs horizontally? Gravity? Bullshit! See for yourself;

like you can see on the picture that strain needed more much more light thats why the production of bud is so low and leafs so much.
If you like to smoke that thats oke but general that just waist of time space and energy.

Seems simpler just to stack a couple short normal flat grow chambers on top each other, with a small open space between them to keep the bottom one from heating up the top one. The vertical growing thing is a strategy to get around the disadvantages of the HID bulbs. It wouldn't really make sense to do it with LEDs. Why fight gravity when you don't have to? However, if you used the LED bulbs with the diffusers on them you could have a grow that's vertical on the sides and horizontal on the bottom. Those diffusers make it look exactly the same brightness from the sides as from the tip of the bulb, or very close to it.

There is no fighting gravity... The plants adapt and the light isn't effected... The point is that you can yield more per sq/ft of space with vertical... Like 3 times as much or more depending on how close you want to get
 
ttys..the one thing hid IS good for is 360 degree vertical..

btw you latest pic is slammin..

yoda[weed] does not seem to have any of his own led test grows to show..[but a lot of talk]..but he has a point about vertical hps..

its awesome done right..that said ttys you have used both and know that too..
 
TBF, all tty, did essentially is turn the room on its side. Nothing really "gained" from that perspective.

And directional lighting is obviously the least ideal choice for vertical growing because you cant utilize all the light how you would in a traditional vertical grow. (IE the light that would be bouncing off a reflector.)

Granted ttys setup is awesome. But he cant take criticism for shit and nothing will ever change that.

I personally just think its hilarious how full of himself he is.

I have Yodaweed on ignore specifically because he knows some shit, but he doesn't know shit about COBs, thinks COBs compare to LED panels, and doesn't know the difference between incandescent HIDs and Electroluminescent Solid State Lighting. He really is educated well enough to a point, but there's a quick, steep, outdated knowledge base dropoff and he often demonstrates ignorance.

The problem is, you using square footage as a gauge would be like an average grower calculating the square feet of one of his walls and saying that is his "square footage". Its misleading.

This is because you have simply turned the room on its side. Youre not using light more efficiently by doing it like this, if thats what you think.

What concerns me is this is shit anyone with any "engineering" ability could deduce in their sleep.


Also, I dont ignore people on forums for the same reason I dont confine myself to "safe spaces" in real life.
