Adding UV to COB

Curious if this has this ever been proven? Ive heard the argument and it definitely makes sense but a part of me believes resin production is a result is a result of horny women trying to catch pollen. Why would resin be produced under no UV conditions?
Because it happens at a strain dependent rate anyways... Since plants expect to be under the sun. Just like a tree knows it needs bark

Time on is going to depend on preference and your distance from canopy. But yup that is basically how I calced it

My original question though is whether UV-B vs ANY UV light is the cause.......It is much more energy efficient to create UV-A unless I am mistaken.....
Here is the original study that most of this is based on......

This was in 1987 and the test never removed UV-A from the light.

"Ultraviolet-B (UV-B; 280-320 nm)-emitting lamps unavoidably emit ultraviolet-A (UV-A; 320-400 nm) and ultraviolet-C (UV-C; <280 nm) radiation."

You want both UVB and A. They hit it in different ways, I'm sure you could experiment. There are people here that grow with it and get better results with uv

I recently picked up (2) 4' T5ho fixtures and fitted them with Agromax UV-A Plus bulbs (10K). I would have opted for the "Pure UV" which gives off A & B but I didnt want more timers in my room or to have to worry about when I can/cant enter my room. From my understanding, UV light is beneficial for killing off mold/mildew in a room as well. Lots of people who run it claim their issues with powdery mildew have come to an end as well as better trich production on their buds.

UVA is used in hospitals to kill bacteria in the Hvac system with t5 lights in blue spectrum.
I was reading that some hvac units come with a UVC as well since it is confined into the duct work an no worry of exposure to the UV. So this brings me to a quick thought me being a diy'er....
Couldn't one just build a "scrubber box" by connecting an exhaust fan into a box connected to a carbon scrubber and put a UVC light inside of the box while it scrubs the air? Then you can scrub the air in your room, and kill off mold/mildew/bacteria etc while freshening your room? All with no ill effects or worry of UV exposure.

It is a horticulture bulb. I thought the same as other. UVB was needed. From what I've seen the uva is working just fine for tric production as well as no pm.

UV-a,b both hit the earth's surface and I see plenty of PM on outdoor crops.........UV-c, mostly filtered by the atmosphere will kill mold/germs and" fuck up" your plants with moderate exposure (dna damage)....in an enclosed box attached to the ducting, sure go for it.

True statement. Still doesn't change what I said. I never said to use uvc.

We know outdoors gets pm even with uva and b.

Thing is we are talking indoors. Using uv is just one of several things to be done to reduce the chances of pm.

I have not had pm since adding uva. I also run rh in the 40% range and have adequate air flow.

If you flip the fan around and force air through using with an Ozone generator is helps to remove impurities from carbon filter extending life before you have to reactivate saving you money.

I've had PM a cpl times, but was able to keep it in check until harvest with natural organic methods. As fast as I go from cutting to flower, I dont use any systemic cures because I wont deal with the toxins or half lifes. Anything I can do to add a wall of protection with a non-chemical approach, Im all about it! @.15 per kwh Im looking at less than $6 a month to run both T5HO lights 12 hrs a day. :)
