Adding UV to COB

There's really no UV in HPS anyways so it's not as needed... It makes the buds have better quality but lessen yield.

Woah what u mean lessen yield? All it does is make the plant put out a protective resin coat on the buds and waxing of the leaves. It is more like outdoors and it works great know multiple people who use it with success only use it for 4 minutes a hour for 4 hours during middle of light period. So if 18/6 run it during hours 7-11. Make sure you're not in room either

Ya but uvb is what you really want
I would question if it is really needed tho. I would think it is going to be hard to find a diode that puts out B very long without frying. How much is a dental diode? Cree doesn't make em I dont think.. Incandcent or MH your best bet?

No they make 4ft t5's tho for it. According to @RM3 use it for 4 minutes at a time an hour apart during the peak 4 hrs of flowering so house 4,5,6,7. Don't go in there tho while lights on you'll get a nasty burn

We are talking greater than sun levels when adding pure UVB/A... At this higher dosage the plant produces more THC to protect the plant from these rays. So less effort goes to flowering bud and more to protection... But with enough light in sure it's a small amount just haven't tested it. But that's what I've heard from UV guys that use the pure uv bulbs. But it makes sense if you know how plants work... Say you work them at 100% for the whole time there's light.. Well now the plant has to produce more in one area which means it takes away from another.

Curious if this has this ever been proven? Ive heard the argument and it definitely makes sense but a part of me believes resin production is a result is a result of horny women trying to catch pollen. Why would resin be produced under no UV conditions?
