Seedlings problem... or not?

Hi guys, i have started some non feminised seeds from JOTI for the first time.
I had the seeds crack in a cup of water and have then transferred them in a paper towel.
About 48 hours ago i have put the cracked seeds with the root in jiffy's soaked in PH wated and some Rhizotonic in a dome.

I realise that my lights have been too far away because my seedlings stretched like crazy (especially the first ones that popped out).
I wasn't able to keep my T5 right on top of my dome because temp was going up to 85-90
I tried opening the dome for some time but noticed the leafs curling down even more.

The problem is that the cotyledons are drooling down and I have no idea why.

I am giving them 18hours of light. And Rh is around 50-60
Am i doing wrong? Could this be overwatering?

P.S. I see roots coming out of 2 Jiffy's already

lose the dome, drop the light a little, they'll be fine. the leaves are just spreading, and going from high humidity to ambient can cause some drooping.

Thank you. What temperatures should i try to keep?
I took off the dome and right now the tallest seedling is exactly at 5inches away from the light

Should i mist them with water once in a while? or what with rhizotonic? Or just let them be

new height sounds ok for now, temps under 85f should be fine for now too, 75f ideal.

I would get a pair of tweezers and very delicately remove the shells from the leaves. Ive had many seedlings die because they were unable to shed their shell, be very delicate and they should be fine.

Don't worry!

1. Take off the dome
2. Keep the light about 12 inches from the seedlings. Too close and it will be too much light for them, too far and they'll stretch unnecessarily.
3. Once you see roots coming out of those plugs, get it transferred into a larger pot.
4. 75 degrees is an ideal temp for those seedlings. It's also okay to keep them on a heat map to coax those roots to grow

Agree with CSF. Take the dome off. Dont water them too much

Don't give em any more water and get your light as close as you can and they should perk up, you can pull off those seed husks as well

Hi guys,
thanks to all your advice the seedlings look great (for the most part)
I would like to mention that out of 37seeds that I germinated all 37 popped and gave roots.
And so far only 3 did not sprout. I got the seeds from Jordan Of The Islands and would definitely do business with them again. (This is not a paid commercial ).

Btw, forgot to mention that some of them show roots already so they will be transferred into 4" pots with Coco

What type of grow are you doing? What strains are they? Is this your first grow? Inquiring minds want to know...lol

Well, this will be a new set up. Because of the moving around I couldn't always keep one.
This will be a basement stealth grow for now, at least until we buy a house somewhere in the foreseeable future.
This is going to be a 1000W with an Adjustawing XL with 6x 3 gallon pots of Coco using Canna COgr nutes. Nothing special. From that i am planning to collect about 20oz of quality bud
And i am also planning to keep 2 mothers under a 250w or 400w MH.
Because of the size of this grow I don't really need a lot of mothers but i enjoy taking care of plants. Just taking care of them on it's own helps me with my anxiety. I used to be able to get clones but my friend moved away leaving me no choice but to make my own.

Because it's my first time growing from seed, I was afraid so decided to plant all the seeds i have and then just keep 2 that will feel "right".

I am planning to keep 1 Purple Kush because of it's taste and strong high and one BC Big bud to make sure i never run out of medicine.

Less is more. I was just thinking about that. What do i feed them? I have the full line of Canna Nutes.
So far i have only soaked Jiffy's in 2ml/L Rhizotonic solution. Do i start giving them a very weak AB solution?

After transfer should be OK. Like you said, weak solution and just keep an eye on it like youve been doing. Some good advice in these posts, although I wouldn't put my T5 as quite as high as 12" (more like 6") unless there was a reason the plants were reacting funny. Nonetheless thats very minor/personal preference issue. Also make sure your coco doesnt get too dry too quickly (its highly pourous) especially if you are flowering in HPS lighting. This is a standard feed schedule:

Seedlings, Early Sprouts 100 to 250

Early Vegging 300 to 400

Full Vegetation 450 to 700

Early Blooming 750 to 950

Full Mature Blooms 1000 to 1600

I always go for the minimum possible, Ussually I dont pass 800 ppm

I wouldn't use tweezers. That can damage them.

I use a little dropper to put a drop or two of water on the hull to soften them.

Its actually best to plant the seed with point up. The tap makes a u turn as it comes out. With the seed point up the seed will open and the soil will take it off slowly.

I like 20c to 30c for seedlings 40c is when it gets too hot

when starting with coco or foam or rockwall I like to give some rooter or plant start if I don`t then by week 2 they get a mild feed

humidity I`ll go with 40% to 80% but 60% is probably ideal but some people seem to do fine upto 90%

Some low power light till they have 2 to 4 mature leaves

Oh heated propagators I always check there not getting too hot

if the day time temp outside is over 20c then you probably don`t need to heat them at all but it can help make things go faster for sure

pot them up as soon as they have 2 to 4 mature leaves on them the faster they get potted up the faster they seem to grow from seed, getting the tap root to shoot of well is one of the most important factors to getting a good plant
