Closed Column Pressurized Extractor

Hey all. Just got a 135g extractor from Beat Value Vacs and am having a little issue. It didn't come with instructions lol. My problem is I pull a vacuum the same way I seen on a video review online but when I go to put the solvent in, It wont even take a one full 400ml can. it probably takes maybe 250-300ml and then wont take any more.

Now one thing I did notice is that everyone seems to be pulling the vac from the skinnier valve at the bottom vs the one I am using on top. Does this matter? Is that the only issue? I bought everything pump, extractor, heating pad, and chamber from them and they gave me one hose. That hose was in the box with the chamber. Seems they would have had a note or at least something indicating that I'd need a different type. The hose I have is a orange hose that screws on both ends. Help please!

If I need another type can they be found locally vs online?

As soon as you introduce butane, your vacuum goes away in the lower chamber.

Try setting it in an ice bath or alcohol and dry ice while injecting, and as the butane vapor in the lower tank condenses and liquefies, it will produce a vacuum and pull the balance of the butane through.

Ok so when you are saying lower tank are you referring to the lower end of the tube? I only have an extractor tube so I'm kind of confused about the "lower tank" part of your reply.

Clearly I misunderstood what kind of extractor you bought.

If you have a simple tube, you have no way for the vapor to escape and allow the rest of the butane to enter.

You will get more in the tube if it is below the boiling point of butane, and the butane is also chilled first.

I experimented with a horizontal tube, with two unequal vertical legs, so I flooded at the tall one and valved it off when the short leg flooded liquid.

If it's a simple tube, it won't matter which end you pull the vacuum from. You want the butane to be chilled as much as possible to fit the most in and avoid thawing your frozen bud out.

we pull vac from the bottom cuz the end is the same size as the port on our vac chambers. My 6" tubs takes prolly half a can of butane per run... much less than any open blast method...

Also, make sure everything is frozen 24hrs in advance... the 0f temp on the butane helps it stay liquid longer, and you will get more in... might be packed too tight or something.... I dont like tubes that long, i would rather do several smaller runs, but thats me...

Too small of a tube for there to be enough vacuum to offset the pressure from the butane can. The only way you're going to get more pressure from the butane source is to apply some kind of electric heat source to the can to create pressure, and even then you're not going to get the full 1 can per ounce recommended.
