These are not good pics but it's a rough idea. Just started week 3. Almost, all different strains & all new. So in just learning what each plant does & what they like. View attachment 3756644View attachment 3756646View attachment 3756647The Purple Punch turned out to be quite the stretcher & blocks out the photos kind've.
I use side-lighting but that blocked out too. Lol!!
This is a great run though because it's my first one using the mini-split.
First time having adequate Co2 because of it.
Lol @those big cflz,i had a bunch in my room also haha.how you like your minisplit and what size and brand did you get? .im in the process of a larger build and im needing 2 x 4 ton minis with heat pumps.might just install 2 x 3.5 ton Fujitsu systems but im waiting on 1 more price from the Mitsubishi distribution co.

Yeah, had to throw the big CFL in to cover that spot. Not knowing these strains, I kind've messed up putting the big stretching Purple Punch right between 2 lights. Now that it stretched, it doesn't really get any light from the hood on either side of it.
So I added that big 27k cfl, & on the other side I added 2 regular 5k & 35k Cfl's.
I believe In adding 5k where I can to enhance the HPS which is deficient in blue.
That's why my 2, 4 bulb T-5's have 65-67k on the top, closest to the hoods & bloom bulbs below.
4 ton Units. That's like 40,000 BTU right?
Mine is a Midea 36,000. Ran me about $2000 & $500 for the install.
What a difference.

So those work like a cars ac? Big condenser outside fanning off heat and evaporator inside blowing cold air in through a cold coil?

4t is 48,000btu but you can connect up to 60,000btu worth of indoor heads as long as you dont set them at the same temps so they wont run all at once.they can run together but you will never get more than the 48,000btu from them.
Im looking at 11,000.00 just in parts for the 2 systems plus 6 different indoor heads (wall mounts) and all the linesets and valves, misc parts.one of my patients and good friends is a hvac guy so labor will be minimal and probably paid in weed lol.i could do the whole op in conventional systems with zone dampering for half the price but i really dont want all the ducting plus mini splits are more efficient and much more quiet
These units im looking at will be low ambient (heated pans) because its also my heat source and we get fuckin cold here in the winter months.
@Hybridway sounds like you got a good deal and 5 bones for the install is very fair.

from what I can tell the cobs are being driven harder in the pro 3 and the pro 3 ho even harder. I didnt know 3070's could be pushed like that, I thought that was the difference between the 3590's and the 3070's- how much power they can handle. But im still learning.
the pro4 makes sense running the 3590's at like 100w each.
What is the impact of running the cobs harder? Shorter lifespan? Potential burn/hotspots?
running cobs harder creates more heat and decreases efficiency.i run my cxb 3590 at 50 watts and according to the led gurus that means i am running at 56 % efficiency .if you run at lower wattage you can get efficiency into the 60s .if you run harder ,you lose efficiency but get more light for less up front cost.running more cobs driven lower gets better light spread and efficiency but costs more.
realstyles has some pretty good prices on everything you need to build your own.
cxb 3070 are just not as efficient as the 3590s

If the price is close I'd go with the mitsu. By far the best company going and have many many years experience. Other brands are still good but I really think they nailed it. Mine has the hyper heat which keeps my place toasty even when temps go negative.

Mr cool has some kits with pre charged lines and low refrigerant warnings if you mess anything up. Super cheap as well but lower seer. 3 ton 36k btu cost around 2 grand and can be installed with little trouble.

Hey Big, I used to use Air Pots when I top dripped using Hydro Halo Rings, but the rings actually built up algae and clogged. I even drilled the holes larger and they were hard to stake properly to maintain even distribution. This led me back to my original roots- F & D

I start seedlings in DIY bubbler in 3" net pots. Tote lids are also 3" to simplify transfer (the air stones are not in the totes, they are there in case someone want to use same tote for DWC. Th pic is of 5g tote, I now use 3g totes, which allow for higher flood line with small rez

I flood every ~ hour during veg then longer periods as they mature

That looks great petflora. Even though I'm dying to try something new I'm actually just using all this just for regular soil growing. My flood tables are being used like you used the halos but I haven't set anything up yet. My biggest concern isn't doing the work to set it up but it's more about calibrating it to water all plants evenly.
