Why Can’t the G.O.P. Get Real With Black Voters?

I can respect what they do without respecting how they think.

That's why I amended it to work. It's a strange dynamic I wish people would let go. My girls uncle cares for his black crackhead neighbor. The guy is always over there for a plate of food and a beer. But other times her uncle is cursing black people and mexicans. Just let that shit go man. He's no better than anyone. He's done stupid shit to make him an ex con, and at times I think he's at peace and realizes it and is nice to everyone.

Education until experience man.

But you swallow the propaganda that comes out of this country.

I have a set of morals, guidelines and beliefs, from that I formulate my opinions. Propaganda comes from all directions at all times and can be based on things that are untrue so I reject it.

"Liberals have a bunch of facts which technically may be right" -Newt Gingrich

My stomach hurts from laughing so hard!
It slayed me too. The kind of laughing that brought tears.

"Liberals have a whole set of statistics which theoretically might be right but it's not where human beings are" (Newt)

"these statistics come from the FBI, they aren't a liberal organization" (CNN comentator)

"As a politician I'll go with how people feel and you can go with the theoreticians" (Newt)

It about sums up the Trump campaign right there.

"He just brought a feeling to a fucking fact fight" (Oliver)

"Politicians can create feelings"

"Gringrich said: Feelings = Facts"

"By the transitive property: Politicians can create Facts"

"Donald Trump can create his own reality and that is as close to an actual magic spell that I've ever seen" (Oliver)

It's not as funny in text as when Oliver said it but daaaym that's a sharp skewer run right through standard Wing Nut logic.

Hence the nuts part, yes.

Republicans and logic are mutually exclusive.

That's exactly what Gingrich says too. Your beliefs are more strongly held than facts. Truthy stuff forms your internal sense of reality. Not based on fact. Which is why you can never ever get it right.

Not saying you are dishonest, or even not being true to yourself. Just saying your beliefs don't reflect reality.

Nlsxk1 is so close to actually doing what he says and posting logical well documented arguments but then he falls back on those feelings. At least He's brave enough to post his shit under his name consistently.

I am not even sure what you are trying to mean here.

I am for more freedom, less government, less regulation, which leads to a more productive society. I think society should handle charity and that the federal government should not even be involved in the lives of citizens and should be relegated to it's original role of handling matters between the states.

Obama will be the first president in US history to preside over an economy that never once reached 3% growth. That is not normal. We are 20 trillion dollars in debt and the Federal Reserve is artificially holding interest rates and has been for nearly a decade and that is not normal. The federal government has looted the social security fund and created a ponzi scheme that is destin to fail.

Why are my beliefs wrong? The government does not know how to run an economy and has fucked it up. More government control will not fix things. We can argue over who might be the worst presidential pick for November but it will not fix the broken system.

You aren't constrained to test your beliefs against facts. Such as your belief that less regulation leads to a more productive society. For example, poisoning people with lead in their food and water isn't the path to productive society. Which is the reason food and water quality regulations include a regulation against lead in water.

You believe that regulation leads to a more productive society in the face of facts that show otherwise.

It's not that hard:
1. "They're gonna take your guns!"
2. "Dem's are having abortions AND selling baby parts!"
3. "Gay marriage is turning our kids gay!"
4. "Black people just want free shit!"
Those are also what people hold as their interests too.

Some of what you list deal with maintaining white privilege, others deal with religious principles and of course, gun rights. Right or wrong, these are beliefs and values held by Trump's right wing voters. Somehow, they also believe that Trump will lead the working classes back to prosperity. So, they are voting in their best interest. Or what they perceive as their interests.

As with @NLXSK1, his and their beliefs aren't justified by facts. To them, beliefs are facts. Their education or their parents failed to teach critical thinking. As Newt said when confronted with statistical proof that society is more safe today as opposed to what Trump is saying: "Liberals have a whole set of statistics which theoretically might be right but it's not where human beings are" (Newt)

And Colbert says: Reality has a liberal bias.

This isn't going to change after the election is over. If Trump loses, they will claim the election was rigged and nothing will alter this perception. The next right wing leader is going to build on Trump's methods and I think he's going to be worse.

Saying I want less regulation is not the same thing as saying I want no regulation.

The states can regulate drinking water just as easily as the Feds. And the Feds had as much to do with the Fuckup in Michigan as the state did so that is not proof that the federal government is working any more than when they let an assassin in under a marriage visa and her and her husband slaughtered a group of people in California.

We have now had 8 years of less than 3% GDP growth and the government grows by more than 2% every year budget wise. We are getting crushed between rising taxes and stagnant wages and it is jobs that would help the situation. Of course the government does not create jobs, it creates legislation, regulation and enforces compliance at the expense of growth.

everything you said is false. the failure does not remit, it is unremitting.

taxes are not rising and wages are actually going up, not stagnating.

you are literally always wrong.
